Is Sam Burgess worth the money?

About 18 months ago there was a lot of unrest on here saying Sam Burgess was not worth getting rid of Dylan Walker and Chris McQueen for and he was not worth the money he was gettIng paid. Well what are people’s opinions now?

In my opinion Sam is worth every penny he gets! Time after time he continues producing the good for Souths - Let’s be honest pretty much every game he is in the top 3 performers for Souths without fail!

I know Taumoalolo gets a lot of plaudits as the best forward in the game but if you think about it he averages about 40 minutes a game where as Sammy does it constantly for 80 minutes week in week out!

I might be biased being English but in my opinion Sam Burgess is one of the greatest ever forwards to play our game and when he finishes his career I just hope he gets the plaudits he deserves as one of the best ever poms to play in the NRL!

Not just a yes, but a fnck yes!!
The family deal that’s on the table is worth it. The commentary last night said it was about 2.5 mil for two years for all three Burgii

Edit- maybe it was 2 mil per year for all 3. But I’m on board.

The 3 Burgess boys are vital to our future--I'm not sure how long the twins are signed for but it's important we get their signatures for a few extra years;at least!!
Seibs has been able to get the best out of them whereby under Maguire they were average.
It'll be a crying shame if we lose this coach!!!

Absolutely. Until Sam came along, we have had no one "with a will to win" since the Mario,Tugger and Bundy days.

I think he took a little bit of time to get back in to league. But at the moment he’s producing the goods, if he could just stop getting silly suspensions it would be even better.
The one against raiders where we had the game won was just stupidity.

This.

Going from playing rah rah in the centres to first grade rugby league took its toll.

He also didnt seem as bulky.

If we beat the Broncs, I reckon we also need to rest Sam going into the finals. He’s playing injured and if he can freshen up I reckon he’s the weapon that brings us deep into finals.

The problem we have is the fight for top two is still pretty intense. Nobody wants a trip to Melbourne.
