Is The Premier League Of 2007 Draw Out Yet?

I can understand it from the point of view of clubs that don't have a NRL team or share an NRL team but for those who have a PL team they fully own it is in their best interest to have a matching draw and as little as possible stand alone home games. I'd much rather go to a stadium where the crowd is filling up for NRL and have around 8000 there already than close friends, family and die hard supporters.

As I said I make these comment with all due respect. The clubs top grade is where the focus is at. If you club doesn't have NRL then your top grade lies in another Comp be it PL, Jim Beam or other.

but surely the job of the NSWRL is to do whats best by their competitions (which don't include the NRL) regardless of the wishes of some individual clubs.

Nothing I have suggested would stop an NRL club from having its PL team play home games as a curtain raiser. If everyone played each other twice, that would be 12 PL home games. That's enough to slot in to NRL curtain raisers. Away games are a different matter but then again, NRL clubs should not care about their competitor's curtain raisers.

There have been a couple of examples of wierd PL scheduling from a Raiders perspective in the last few years. Both years, if memory serves me correctly, PL played while FG had a bye. Fair enough, different competitions and all that and they were playing away in any case (I think).

What got to me was that PL were scheduled to have a bye from FG had a home game. To this day I still cannot see why they would do such a thing, particularly when they could surely have structured it so that the byes were at the same time.

First two rounds make no sense from a Raiders perspective.

First grade: Sea Eagles vs Raiders
PL: Sea Eagles vs Magpies, Raiders BYE

Round 2
First grade: Raiders vs Storm
PL: Dragons vs Raiders (AWAY), Bears vs Eels

I guess the Bears is understandable, but no Premier League match at Canberra Stadium for the first home match of the year?
