Have any of you seen Seymour play over the last month or so? He has been one of our best.

At Brisbane can you name one halfback that has succeeded since Lockyer moved to 5/8?

Pretty hard when all you are told to do is feed lockyer, then you start copping crap for not taking a more dominant role.

Well in Noddy's time at the Sharks we have struggled to find a 5/8 to gel with him, so I can't blame Seymour for that.

Based on current form though I'd have him at halfback ahead of Noddy anyday.

Yeah that was his instructions, just pass to Lockyer. No he was told to step up and play a traditional first reciever role and take on a large proportion of the kicking game. The idea was for him to guide the team around and Lockyer could work more on the fringes and inject himself when he needed to. Seymour couldn't do it, he's too indecisive at the line, some of his runs where he would stop and stand there not being able to know what option to take were embarrasing. Likewise he could either have a blinder of a kicking game or he'd have a day where everything would find the touchline or the dead ball line on the full.

He simply couldn't step up as a halfback. He had and has potential but he was never and never will be the heir to the throne of Langer that he was built up to be. He has the potential to be a solid first grade footballer but that's about it. He can achieve that now that he's away from the pressure that he was under at Brisbane.

And no, I don't profess to be the human encyclopedia on Perry. I just noticed the Broncos joy that a halfback could score a try that didn't involve giving it to Lockyer.

When he scored, no doubt you leant over the fence and abused him forbeing so crap. No wonder Brad Thorn had a chuckle - he was laughing at ya!!!!!

"Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry..."

Whose having a swipe at Brisbane?

As Ozzy once sang: "Finished with my woman..........."

Is that you throwing the towel in? As Kid said, it was a nice try at least.

Maybe you could start with learning his name, you know the basics.

Somaybe that indicision was based on the PRESSURE he had at Brisbane? What pressure? Yet he can achieve more at Cronulla now that he's away from it?

I thought there was no pressure, they just were all crap?

"Can you help me? Are you for my braaiiin? Oh Yeah!"

Steve Perry? Joe Perry? Mason, Perry? Perry cross the Mersey?

Sorry, I was thinking how every forward in history from Sandy Pearce to Fred Briggs just did hitups and tackled.

Stating that Seymour can be a solid first grader is hardly a complement or giving the bloke a rap. When he debuted he was the youngest player to ever play for the Broncos and people put raps on him that he'd be a future star of the game and play rep football. He also had the big boots of Langer to fill. Of course there was pressure, especially when it became evident and still is evident that he won't rise to those levels.

The bloke also debuted in 2002, 2 years before Lockyer made the switch to fullback. Unfortunately he was young and injuries weren't kind to him. But going by your Scott Prince logic he had plenty of time to make his mark and show off his skills before Lockyer moved into a dominant playmaker role.

Less thinking and more working on that list of props and second rowers that have played first and second reciever. It's not exactly hard considering the list is non-existant.

There are plenty of props that have played first reciever -like every hitup numbnuts!

I was referring to forwards (yes, hookers are forwards) who could step in as playmakers. People Chook Raper, who had a fine career despite never having to pass to Lockyer. There are plenty of them, you know. Do some research.

Have you moved on to Planet Caravan yet?

BTW, from which position did Lockyer move TO fullback from in 2004? Prop?

Nice way of avoiding it. I'm still waiting for that list of props and second rowers who consistantly get into first and second reciever and actually direct play.

Yet wait, we may have to can the list as now you just want to narrow it down to hookers. So we can throw out ridiculous suggestions as Civoniceva? So who are the great hookers at Brisbane that have been and are currently being held back by Bennett's gameplan? Can't be Shaun Berrigan, the man who was responsible for our turn around last year that lead us to a premiership and won the Clive Churchill medal all from hooker? So who else? I suspect this is going to go as well for you as your list of halfbacks.

Lockyer might as well move to prop as apparently he can run a football team from the position. Oh and your Black Sabbath references are about as funny as a heart attack and I'm personally more a fan of the Dio years.

LOL. In an attempt to have a discussion with Broncos fans about their side playing seemingly without pressure and with much enjoyment, I have learned the following points:

Johnny Raper, Artie Beetson and SBW are/were hookers.

Benji Marshall is a Queenslander.

Darren Lockyer first played fullback in 2004.

With this last effort from Salivor, I'm now thinking Motorhead: "I really like this jacket but the sleeves are much too long!"

And everyone else has learned something, you're out of your depth in anything resembling a discussion.

I've learnt that Civoniceva is now a playmaker, Perry (adam or Shane?) is a great halfback because he scored a tr............actually wait, I don't have all day to list the stupid statements you've made in this thread.

Here is a suggestion for next time you want to to analyse the Broncos, first attempt to either turn on the telly and watch them or head off to Suncorp to watch a match. You may get a bit further next time if you attempt this.

Thanks for the tip. I'll wear my SBW Bulldogs No. 9 Jumper. Or should it be the Queensland jumper with "Marshall" on the back?

No, just make sure you inform David Middleton that Adam Perry has scored a try for the Brisbane Broncos, he likes those little trivia bits.

You are embarrassing yourself now and should have let this go a few pages ago. No one said Benji Marshall is a Queenslander. He went to High School on the Gold Coast.

Syntax errors and your own lack of comprehension won't save you here.

I did let this go a few pages ago, when Salivor asserted that no forwards could become playmakers. The rest has been a bit of aimless fun, getting bites from dimwits with high blood pressure. Just like Rex Hunt, I'll kiss 'em and throw em back.

No you gave it away the moment you realised you'd gone off half cocked about a dud halfback you knew nothinig about. You've been shown up for your lack of knowledge of everything bar Black Sabbath. Now you're just hanging around to grab the last word so over to you.

Virtually a monopoly Locky, you had 95% of the state, we wouldn't even have 2% and probably more refered to as an oligopoloy lol

We have 95%? Sweet... we've obviously been dudded all this time. Well, here's the Broncos line-up for 2008 considering we have a whole STATE at our disposal:

1. Hunt
2. Inglis
3. Hodges
4. S.Bell
5. B.Bowen
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Price
9. C.Smith
10. Civoniceva
11. C.Webb
12. Johnson
13. Carroll

14. S.Thaiday
15. Hannant
16. Taylor
17. M.Bowen

Bit of a let-down that we had to get rid of Ennis, but I can't wait until next year!!

Yes, we have a bigger area to cover than a lot of teams and we do benefit from that. But here's a couple of facts for you all:

1. Nearly EVERY team in the competition has feeder ties to Qld areas. Even those without full feeder teams have affiliations, high schools and NOTHING stops them from coming up here to sign kids (thus, not a Monopoly - get it?)

2. Under something called the salary cap, we simply CANNOT own all of the players in the state. If the salary cap didn't exist, I have no doubts at all in my mind that the Broncos would have won the last 10 premierships straight - we make more money than any other club and would have paid through the teeth to get superstars in every jersey.

Look, we aren't hard done by like a lot of stupid Bronco fans consistently whinge and whine about. But by the same token, we don't have $50 million and 4,000 star players to choose from each year.

We play by the same rules as every other club in the competition. We might have the benefit of having stronger ties to a bigger area than many, but do you think that Dave Taylor have stayed with Brisbane for $50k a year in the past two seasons if a Sydney club was offering him $400k?

Smart management, a professional set-up, a history of success and a damn fine coach is what has given our club the edge to win the competitions that we have.
