Is this how stupid life has become for an NFL Superstar

Seriously the restaurant should just get over it.

In America, tipping is a big part of their culture. Waiters etc... get paid peanuts, something like $2-3 per hour, and rely on tips as a way of getting paid well. Leaving a 20 cent tip is an insult. Considering an NFL star who'd be on big money leaves 20 cents as a tip (I'm guessing he left a couple of 10 cent pieces) shows that someone is extremely tight.

Hey... he might well have a legitimate reason, but if you were the waiter for someone for the evening and only got 20 cents from them, you would be pretty upset too!

He did if you read the article, he didn't like the service. It's the whole point of tipping, you tip because you like the services, not because you have to pay there wages even if you thought the service was horrible.

Shady didn't like the service, didn't leave a good tip. That's how the system works

If they want bigger tips, give better service.

I have been to the US many times so understand the idea of tipping. But just because someone leaves a small tip doesn't mean they have to go and blurt it out to the whole world.

I couldn't agree more. I despise the way tipping has evolved in America.

Having said that, tipping such a small amount is generally reserved for a waiter literally dropping a shit in your meal, while you try to eat it. Even if a waiter literally ignores your table for an hour, you'd still be expected to tip in America - and most would say "oh I'm only leaving 10% because I'm really not happy".

While I agree, it's all about this big sports star on big bucks being so tight with his tips.

I remember I heard once that Usher left a restaurant without paying a tip, instead he left a signed photo of himself and the media hammered him for that.

I've heard stories about Dana White from the UFC tipping a waiter 10K a time,

He's admitted to tipping 100K over a 2 week period once...

Apparently his tips change lives...
