Best Drummer - Phil Selway from Radiohead. You may not like Kid A as an album, but once you see it drummed live it takes a life of its own - just a sensational drummer. Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden) is fantastic as well.

Best Australian Drummer - Rob Hirst is a great drummer granted, but Pete Kostic (Front End Loader, Regurgitator) owns.

Flo mounier is, hands down, the brst metal drummer i've ever heard. Huis ability too keep a constantly level of extreme intensity through out the whole song is amazing.

PS, punk drumming is crap, my mate could do it at 13/14, hahahaha.

This has to be dumbest comment i've read in this thread.

They might not be hard songs, but people will generally get a drummer who is good, ie can keep time, dosen't play sloppy and is capable of things much harder if neededm, in order to make the songs sound the best they can. Why would you pick a low-quality drummer just because the songs are easy, when they're more likely to screw up. It also makes them much easier to work with, rather than someone who can only play up to that certain level and hence takes ages learning the song.

I can't believe we Danny Carey from Tool hasnt been mentioned yet. The guy is a freaking genius both live and in the studio.

I don't know of a drummer I enjoy listening to more than Danny.

I'll pay Phil Selway, he's a great drummer. Another guy who was amazing was Herb from Primus, I remember seeing them years ago and being amazed by his drumming.

What about old skool punk...I think Topper Headon was a great drummer for The Clash.....hard at the skins when he needed to be and then could play those reggae beats, jazz beats.......too bad he was also hard for the poison as well!!!

Gordy from frenzal is an excellent drummer. So is Andy from The Living End.
Just listening to music tho over the last week, Jimmy Chamberlain is a fricken mad drummer!!!!!!!! Jellybelly is awesome as are other songs. He has to be one of my favourite drummers anyway.

Rob Hirst is Midnight Oil's drummer.

If you can lay your hands on the recently released concert DVD of theirs that has "Oils on Water" ((circa 1885) and "Oils at the Capitol" (circa 1982)you will see what drumming is all about!!!!!
