No disrespect to the panthers, good on them, they are flying but what has puzzled me all this time is 2 years ago they were lucky to pay the ball boys, and in the two years since they have signed anything that walks and talks...yes, i know they let go jennings, lewis etc but they seem to have a first grade team and a half when you look at their nsw cup side.

Anyway, as i said, no disrespect, probably just a little jealousy!! Lol

We've signed underrated players who believe in the clubs future. The club is no longer willing to pay overs for Superstars. Gus and Ivan have spotted talented players and sold them on their vision for the Panthers.
All the massive egos are gone and the talent is spread evenly throughout the squad. We have great depth to cover injuries.
The only player left on the big money is big Sam. He'll have to take a pay cut if he wants another contract.
Our big name players are on a lot less than you would think. Josh Mansour is a good example of a player who knocked back big bucks to stay a Panther. Also having a huge junior league helps, especially now it's being run properly.

You are right. 2 years ago we were a basket case both on the field and financially. Warren Willson has turned the financial side around, fortunatly we were asset rich so a restructure was able to be sorted fairly quickly. Then the positive things started to trickle down. There is a long way to go & even the most passionate Panthers supporters felt Gus & his five year plan sounded far fetched. It's looking a bit more realistic now though. In saying that, without the massive assets we would have been f**ked. May we never cop such poor management again.

Our current squad size is not sustainable. That ridiculous side we have running around in NSW Cup will slowly be whittled down over the next 3 years as the 20s from last year get sorted and the last of the Elliott era players finish their contracts and move.
