With Hodgos injury the tigers title defence is over. While this might make some tigers fans cry, i prefer to take the view that it was fantastic to be premiers, and that the tigers fans should be proud of the boys.

Over on the tigers site people are tearing into sheens, prince and Ryan O'hara. However we have had a lot of injuries, and sides have been up for games aginst us! We won the comp last year for gods sake! I recomend to tigers fans that they use the telstra bigpond area of the NRL website to look at highlights from the semis and grand final from last year, it will bring a smile to your face!

I think tigers fans should remember the pleasure of winning the premiership, and put it into perspective. Clubs such as Cronulla, Cowboys and Warriors have never won a comp, and the massive clubs like the dragons, eels and souths havent won a comp between them for close to 20 years. Guys we won one last year!

I will sit back for the rest of the year cheering the premiers on, remembering the unexpected pleasure of last season and sticking by my team. Come grand final day i hope Johnny Howard is handing the premiership trophy to players such as Matt King, Mick Crocker and Chris Walker.

Tigers fans show your pride and dont rip down a great thing that we created last season!

When a fan gets a taste of success (tigers 2005) then they want more and more, so it is only natural to be dissapointed when the taste turns to brussel sprouts.

Yeah right...and it is going to rain in sydney for 5 weeks straight

It's been raining in Newcastle for like a week, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility ;).

I dont believe so...anyway enough hijacking of this thread...this is about a Tigers fan and his admiration of his teams accomplishments of 2005.

Dissapointed yesterday with the effort, but I'll still be there.

We've had alot of bad luck this season, but I still think some players and certainly Sheens have to take some blame.

Anyway, good post.

The ugly question for the Tigers. is whether they would have made the 8 even with Marshall. Prior to his injury they'd produced no real consistancy and hadn't looked like premiers.

Yeah the Tigers have had a terrible run with injuries, like the dogs last year, making it vitually impossible to defend their title. A lot of the tigers players are still young though. They should be up there again next year. The problem when you win a comp with a lot of young guys is the can lose a bit of motivation just like the panthers did. But Sheens has experience with this when he won with Canberra so he can get Wests back on track in 07.

Exactly right mate,we have not had a full strength side on the field at all this year, and some players were living off last year and not putting in.
