What a teriffic performance by the team today.

A few points of interest.

1. 2 players from Manly shouldve been sent off.
2. Parramatta shouldve been awarded a penalty try.
3. John Hopoate Lead with the elbow when he hit Micky V early in the second half
4. We realistically couldve scored 4 or 5 more tries. ie Luke Burt dropping 2 intercepts, Luke Burt not going himself in the first half from the scrum when he busted the line.
5. Defence was much better, but will need to improve next week.
6. Dykes' last tackle options still not what they should be, however did improve during the game.
7. Great comeback to first grade for Corey Pearson. A real hardhead on the field when the game threatened to explode. Kept the boys mind's on the job.

Its great to be an Eel today. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Smith after the game said Parra had a total of 18 players unavailabe throughout the grades, yet all grades racked up 40+ points in their victories.

Great game by all involved with Parramatta just a couple of things to mention by Mick V, trying to chase down Scott Donald(?) in the first half to keep from scoring under the posts and then late in the game leading a kick chase to keep Manly pinned deep in there territory, really summed up the enthusiasim right through alll the Parramatta players today.

How ordinary was the referee? It turned into a war. He had no control what so ever. Im perplexed by some of the decisions that went both ways.

That Parra team today showed more balls than we have seen in god knows how long.....yes I know it was only Manly, but as the modest mManly fans on this board all week have told us Manly's form has been OK of late.

AND Manly came after as physically today - BIG TIME!!! ...they were looking for scalps in defense and our boys stood up to the high shots and tough stuff in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY.

Yeah I think if Leuleui had of been marched early in the 2nd things would have been under control eh!

Its a shame for their fans that Manly don't have the composure to take the tough stuff to the opposition AND play decent footy.....if Hoppa had a brain he may actually be a decent footballer.

yeah wags played great. i feel happy for him. the match was intense! the best our boys have played since round 1 2002. archer was atrocious. he sends stapo and hoppa to the sin bin for a little punch up and then settles for putting leuleui on report after he tried to dislodge mick vellas head? i cant help but laugh at manly for the way they played today. did anybody else want to bitch slap shane dunley? that little bastard was uber annoying all game trying to put high shots on everyone.

Top game with heaps of grunt.

3 - WAGON
2 - MORRIS
1 - DYKES

I was again almost in tears when BURT crossed over. The boys are playing with ticker, which has been missing for a while. Finally some pride in the blue and gold jersey. I still think we will be doing it tough to make the 8 but hell its been a great fight back by everyone involved. Well done fellas.

Coach SMITH has done well to come back after having a million people giving it to him. Well done.

It's always great to be an eel but the last couple of weeks have been a testing time and hopefully we are on the road to success. I have to say booey last week when burt scored that try and they showed the boys going off in the sheds after the game i did have tears in my eyes as i was wondering if their hearts were still in it and after today's great win their is no question.........

Last weeks dramatic win was a turning point. I think we will at least see the commitment in our remaining games that was missing in the 4 weeks previouse to that.
The loss against the sharks was a turning point for the worse, the Newcastle win was a turning point for the best.

I want to also give Brian Smith a wrap for switching the 2 centres. I don't know why it is, but Burt certainly looked a lot more dangerous at right centre and like-wise Langi at left centre.

A win like this is made sweeter by the fact we've all been down in the dumps for the next month and a half. No matter what happens next week, i'll at least be able to smile through the week. Manly were poor today, but I was very impressed with the attitude and effort displayed by Parra today, best win in ages and hopefully their confidence will be sky high.

I think all our players played well today and really had a go but overlooked a bit is how well Brett Anderson played in only his 2nd first grade game. Congratulations to him.
