OK - so the suspense is kinda killing me.

We have a clear roster and apparently have already signed McQueen.
Given the talk of Whare and Matulino coming across, And given that Garreth Widdop has just said he would test the open market.

Its not a HUGE stretch to say we could have:

1 Teddy
2 Nofoloma
3 Whare
4 Idris
5 Jorge Tafua
6 Daniel Mortimer
7 Widdop
8 Woods
9 McIlryk
10 Matulino
11 McQueen
12 Tony Williams
13 Elijah Taylor

14 Kane Evans
15 Tim Grant
16 Ryan Hoffman
17 Liddle

Now - points:

1. I get thats not the greatest team in the world, but it would be more competitive than the current rabble.
2. It keeps a core of the cheapies that are already here
3. It would leave a STACK of money in the bank for future player recruitment.
4. Experience level goes through the roof.

Im not keen on arguing the merits of him over him, but honestly it cant be that difficult......

At least this is a bunch of genuine first graders.

Mortimer isn't the player he once was. He is the true definition of a 1 year wonder

Tony Williams? You're having a laugh

No way we'll snare Widdop, he seems committed to the Dragons and he's not even that good anyway. Looks ok behind a really good drags forward pack, but not a superstar

Sign an experienced half alongside Moses. Townsend is still on the market I believe

I'd take Evans, Whare and Matulino though

Shredder - I get where you are coming from. I think we just need to wait and see what happens. I'm more concerned about paying overs for our stars than in actually losing them.

Evans is a Balmain junior the son of the unhinged Peter Davies.Unfortunately he is nowhere near as tough as his old man.

Ryan Hoffman from the bench?

You've signed too much talent for that team. Your club would go over the cap by a mil and you'd waste another year in the competition.

Townsend will stay at Cronulla I believe.

Moses appears to be more suited at halfback in my view, his kicking game needs a lot of work though.

He'd be good with a Blake Green type 6 beside him.

Tony Williams will not succeed here unless we hire Shane Flanagan as coach. That is the only bloke in the NRL who can turn crap forwards into gold.

Mortimer is NSW Cup quality, depth type player.

If we had a tough pack in attack and defence then Brooks would improve out of sight. Sort out the forwards, retain Brooks and Tedesco, if Moses wants cash, f**k him off and work on centres after that.

Ted saying he wants to play semi final football, could be a sign he has had enough and is looking else where.

I really don't think Tigers will let him go. We have no depth at fullback at all and we let our next decent prospect go in Ryan papa

I guess my point was two fold.

1. There isnt a great amount of quality available in the open market.
2, but we could build something competitive with players that come from decent cultures and put in.
3. Its Thursday, raining and Im bored.

A lot of those players are seen as past their best, exactly the kind of bloke who thrives under a "change of scenery."

What we need is a decent coach, to see what he can get out of the current crop, at least those he wants to keep. Look at all the so-called nuffies who've gone to Melbourne and thrived under Bellamy.
