Just puting his price high.

And yes far more to achieve.

There just isn't the money to attract a guy like him in Union at the moment, 7s and World Cup are nice but aren't going to put any money on the table. He isn't a big enough name to earn to much in off field deals either.

These seems a blatant attempt to up a contract negotiation on the face of it.

He ain't going anywhere.

This is just a follow up to that other rock solid story where his manager was "overheard" talking to Ewen Mckenzie.

If he wants to play Union then let him go. I am past having concern about what players want to do.

Agree.

We welcome them back to readily. If coming back wasnt such an easy option, they wouldn't leave in the first place.

Doubt he will go as he's jacking up his price but if he (or anyone) goes, whack on a 5 yr ban or similar.

Sounds like a typical Sharks player ... lacking in true desire to win a Premiership.

The lack of devastation after the Manly semi proves that the club has a defeatist, losing culture.

I mean their captain is more concerned with playing for NSW than his club FFS.

Great players will give everything to win a comp and will consider their careers unfulfilled until they do so.

The Sharkies however seem content with merely trying hard and creating false "us against them" battles, which apparently by making the finals they won!

Huh? Fifita was talking to McKenzie, they were having lunch.

TBH I hate fcking Union but if they offered me a spot in the Olympics I'd switch in a heartbeat. I reckon becoming an Olympian would be the best achievement you could have as a sportsman, not to mention the talent in the Olympic village to go at!

re "Honours" to achieve in the game what are they, I guess if you wanted to tick the bucket list it would be something like (in no partcular order)

NRL premiers
SOO series win
World Champion
Ashes series win
Four nations series win
SL premiers
Challenge Cup medal
World Club Champions
International Player of the year
Dally M
Golden Boot
Harry Sunderland Trophy
Lance Todd Trophy
Clive Churchill medal

I wonder which player has ticked the most off the bucket list?

He was just a run of the mill first grader in 2012, he hasn't even proven he can back up a good season.

Sterlo? All bar a SL premieship.

One of my favourites, but no Harry Sunderland Trophy, Lance Todd Trophy, World Club Championship. He had no chance of winning RLIF Player of the Year ( only started 2004 ) or Tri-Nations / Four Nations as they weren't started until 1999. Is the "Challenge Cup medal" just to reach the final ? ( i.e. - medal recipient, by receiving runners-up medal at worst )

A premiership ring for every NRL player is the ultimate prize, I would even go as far to say that the likes of junior Pearce and Hindy would secretly trade their test jersys for one..

I don't think there's any doubt whatsoever that they would. A Premiership is worth a World Cup and 10 Origin series wins.

And as a fan who wouldn't prefer one Premiership to a lifetime of Origin series wins?
