Correct me if Im wrong but one would think that alongside representing your country etc the highlight of a career is to win a Grand Final?!?!?!
I know I'd feel incomplete....... but thats just me I guess ;-)

Maybe it finally dawned on him that that would never happen. Or it would be too far in the future to wait for it.

Too far in the future?!?!?! He is 22 and has a future of 8+ years ahead of him!!!!
one would think that we should hopefully be contenders in that time frame.....

Commiserations Eels fans and best wishes to Lyon whatever he chooses to do. What a gifted player and from his public profile seems like a great bloke too. Only wish it had been the Sharkies who enjoyed 7 years of his talent, not you lot!!!. I do agree with the earlier comment recommending that he think about all this with a "no regrets" mindset. Wouldn't want him to wake up at 32 and think "why the hell did I do that". Wonder if he might think about rah, rah? He could be a sensation the way he runs. What an addition for the 2007 World Cup!!! Crap outcome for you guys but you can almost hear the Waratahs and the Wallabies licking their lips at the thought now.
