I have been a Sheens supporter and often backed him but I'm done. When we miss the eight but everything was done correctly then fine, but a few things:

1. I would have thought a solid halfback is neccassary for any team and someone like Geoff Robson would have been perfect for Marshall.

2. No consistency in the halves

3. Our defence

4. Blair...what was he thinking

No doubt Sheens has good qualities but time to move on

1. Anasta will partner Benji next year. Solid defender and our kicking game should improve from inside our half.

2. Anasta. Can switch off at times but I'm confident his experience will have us going forward.

3. Ellis gone will weaken the defence further but pettybourne can hit so let's just wait.

4. Blair has the being on the dole mentality. He puts in his 80 mins but they are unproductive. Cut his pay in half or f**k him off.

Sheens has 2013 to at least top 4 or he should go. No less than that or f**k off.

Congrats- you've joined the dark side and become one of those 'so called supporters'.

Constructive criticism always should be welcomed.

When the staunchest Sheens supporters are coming around you know something is brewing.

Not hard to see these issues. Everyone only wants the best for the team.

The `so called supporters'
The `pitchfork wielding hordes'
The `figjam quartet'

All I can say with regards Sheens and his love by a section of our fans is that David Koresh also had disciples. Some people think Juliar isn't a spastic.

Unfortunately the world is full of people who should have been euthenased or (at best) prevented from breeding

We're not alone, Tallis was on the radio 2 days ago saying that "Sheens needs to move on"
Now if we could just teach the board how to read & hearing aids so that they can hear!!

if teflon is still around in a month i will be very very suprised, the drums have never been louder,i have not heard one person other than benji come out and support him in the last week and their have been countless league people saying its time.

i would say humpty and the board would be on the phone talking to anderson, taylor, dymock, parish and who ever else is available.

All I hope is they make a complete cleanout and start it fresh and of course make the call quick and of course their is a chance that he might pull the pin on saturday night

We need to be astute as a club in picking a new coach. I would hope we go for someone such as Anderson or even head hunting Folkes back to the fold. Nothing worse than taking a punt on a coach who has limited to nil first grade coaching experience.

Over the last twenty years Sheens is the best coach either wests, balmain or wests tigers has ever had but his time has come, well it came at the end of '07 to be honest. We can't revisit the dark days of 2000-2002 as a joint venture.

Who remembers the heretics thread ?

I can vaguely recall it. Maybe we 'heretics' are finally getting some traction going. More than anything all I'd like is for people, including the WT management, to rationally and dispassionately look at Sheens record at WT and ask themselves 'is this the best we can do and be, or do we want better?'

I'm not saying a new coach will be a panacea for everything and no doubt there will be some upheaval but things are not working now under Sheens. WT are not performing to the level they should. Taking into account player experience and cohesion (yes I know they're often playing in different postions but it remains essentially the same player group) we should be doing better than this.

I want WT to be contenders not pretenders.

The unfortunate problem any coach coming in has it that they will be judged very harshly if they do not have a stellar year. The excuses wont be offered up by the Sheens acolytes for a new coach.

Secondly I have real fears that some of our players will pull a Parra and not give the full effort to a new coach and sook

I think they will too gronk.

I listened to Greg Alexander after the Luke Lewis leaving penrith debacle. He was absolutely scathing in his assessment of the players. He said Matt Elliot had basically allowed the players to take over the club, he was very liked because of this and never disciplined anyone. When Elliot was sacked georgallis was brought in and he was basically the same. When Gould appointed clearly and told georgallis he would be moved on the players lost their shit and whinged nonstop. He said he had never in his life experienced anything like it and couldnt believe the way they were carrying on.

Now penrith have lost 2 of their biggest names and will probably have a couple of years atthe bottom of the ladder. However Gould and cleary are slowing eradicating the culture that was poisoning the club.

If a new coach comes in and some of our 'stars' can't handle being told how it is instead of cuddled after a performance like Sunday and told 'it's ok, I know you tried and have lots of injuries, plus the try that took easts from 26-0 to 32-0 shouldn't have been allowed' then I will take that. I'm ready to see our club in the wilderness for a year or two if it eredicates the bullshit culture that is in the club ATM

Probably, but then again its often been said a clean out is needed to get things back on track. That means players are under the pump as much as the coach. If they dont like it, they can leave. No-one is indespensible.

and at the end of the day, players will leave eventually, even via retirement, no player is bigger than the club.

Farah and Woods should be highest priority right now, every one is behind them.

Agreed. Farah needs to end his career here and I rate him a worse loss than Benji.

We need a tough coach like Des Hasler who will make the players work hard, take pride in the team and want to perform for the club, and who know they will be punted if they don't step up. Are there any available coaches who fit this description?

Vic Mackey, very well said.

madunit, again well said in regards to Farah & Woods.

Ron's Mate, I guess Hasler, Maguire, Smith, Cleary would and I'm sure Folkes and Taylor would. I assume a new coach would want to do what he wants but what the board has to do is tell them what they want and that has to be results.

Any new coach:
* must have as the priority the settling of the 'spine'.
* must be willing to the dropping of under performers,
