I would love Bird to come back, because he's a good player, and to shove it to Cronulla:D. Also I'd rather pay for Jack Bird who plays several postions instead of Dugan, don't get my wrong Duges is goo but Bird will be better

Shove it to Cronulla......Lol....We took your junior, who wanted a chance in first grade, won a premiership, made SoO, so you can have him back now @ 4X the price.

He is a good player no question, but will be asking to much next time around.

Its just wishfull thinking by dragon supporters.
I dont think we have any chance he will stay with sharks.
More likely a team like roosters will make a play for him.

No worries, Bird and Hunt would make a decent pairing tbh.

I think Newcastle will get him.

I agree cc but will mann stay after being stuffed around by mary.
Correct, Mary better give him an extended first go at 7 to prove his worth, unlike last year.
I have real concerns this will not happen and if so how can you blame him for leaving the club, a real talent I feel.
Hope I'm wrong about Mary's judgement however his player selection record is negative and poor.

If Widdop is not re-signed for 2018, the vacancy will be at 6. We already have a 7 in Hunt. So in 2017 the logical halves pairing should be Mann at 6 and Widdop at 7. If this combo does not work out, there are plenty of players waiting in line for their chance to shine.

Bird can play in the halves, centres and at fullback. If it is a decision to move Widdop on, then surely the signing of Bird should be a priority.

It dosnt look good at training seem to be mccrone and nona doing half back role.
So I hope I am wrong but mccrone will be 7

I think mccrone is locked in for 7. If that is the case I can accept that only if dufty is playing 1. It would be a big gamble starting dufty 1, mann 7, new hooker etc. But they need to take some risks this year! Whats the point of having duges at 1, widdop 6, mccrone 7? We saw how that went last year.

The thought of a Jack Bird/Ben Hunt halves combination makes me salivate.
Last time I heard that term salivate, was back in January 2010.. a couple of barber's who were salivating at the squad Parramatta had heading into the season, predicting a massive year for them, whilst writing off the Dragons as a threat, well we all know what happened to the eels that year and what the Dragons achieved.
So when I hear a Bird/hunt combo and the word salivate used in the same sentence ,it won't happen in actual fact a Hunt/Widdop combo is more likely to happen.

Bird loves the Dragons - it's in his blood - ask yourself why hasn't he signed a long term contract when he was on fire earlier last year and just extended by a year? Not because of the cap... He's waiting to see how things pan out w sharks and Dragons - if he doesn't come back expect him to sign a 4 year deal w Sharks

Let him sign with the Sharks, move on from him.
