A yarn from a former player (2 first grade games) about a very notable first grade coach back in the early 90s.

3 on 1 try scoring drill. Young fullback was forced to repeat the drill until he could stop the try being scored. Whole first grade team watching on. After something like 30-40 attempts it broke the kid who was told he wasn't going to make it in the top grade with his attitude.

The bloke telling the story gave the coach an absolute gobful. Not a surprise that he found himself out the door by seasons end.

Tall tale or not I think this kind of thing has been around for a very long time.

Could you imagine this happening in ANY other workplace in any industry? No
tbf professional sport is a fairly unique workplace in so many ways.
That doesnt excuse creating an unsafe workplace and Bulldogs could well be on the line here if he can prove what they did went above and beyond what a reasonable person would expect in his situation.

The Navy sump up the rump scandal was 1995.
I hazard a guess some would think the RAN has been soft for nearly THIRTY years.

He's going to have a hard time proving any allegations isn't he? Unlikely anyone currently employed is going to go into bat for him.

That's always the difficulty with these sorts of cases.

Obvs it's a rare employee who wants to speak out against their employer. If it did happen there'll be some evidence somewhere. It only has to meet the balance of probabilities but it's still a hard ask unless someone's willing to jump ship and throw their employer under the bus.

Sounds like supporting the Knights with Ponga injured.
