I do not know whether its off field stuff or injury but apparently Souths are looking to move James Roberts on.
I am reading things like he needs a support crew, people around him helping him.
Thats great and my point is not to take that away, but when is it enough.
From my POV he isn't that great, very fast good feet, when he could be bothered. Not a worker not much of a defender

While players like him keep getting gigs other players trying to make it are not. Why do you think players like Roberts keep getting life lines is it just having a good manager ?

Because he is super talented. At his best he is extremely dangerous and teams will give him a lifeline.

On one hand I don't think he is as professional as he could be and his best years were under Bennett at the Broncos. On the other hand, he has had a bad run of reoccurring long term injuries, so I can understand if he felt frustrated and demotivated by all of that.

I just hope he can get fit again and maintain his speed.

Someone will want him. Souffs don't need him because they've got the sharpest backline in the business without him, and I can see Latrine going the same way.

If anyone could set him on the good path it’d be Wayne Bennett.

I don’t know what the true reasons Souths have if they are letting him go but if it’s for social issues again if be genuinely concerned for him.

There comes a time in every troubled players career when their off field dramas outweigh what they produce on the field. James Roberts career is quickly heading down that direction sadly.

Players like him live on the very good games, no matter how few and far between they are. Every desperate club thinks they can get the best out of them and get more good games than bad, and within two seasons realise they can’t and try and move them on.

He seems happiest and most settled whilst at the Titans - maybe a move back there under Holbrook would be his best bet.
