Japanese Rugby Targets Tuiaki - Tele

WESTS Tigers wrecking ball Taniela Tuiaki could become the latest player to leave the NRL for Japan rugby.

Just weeks after Craig Wing shocked the Rabbitohs by quitting the final year of his contract to chase the yen, we can reveal big Taniela is at the top of Japanese rugby's hit-list.

With size and speed to burn, Tuiaki has attracted interest from a number of clubs who have already been in contact with his manager Sam Ayoub.

The Kiwi powerhouse is contracted to the Tigers until the end of next year but that didn't stop Wing from jumping ship.

The Japanese have a thing for big wingers, having already signed former Shark Fraser Anderson to a lucrative deal.

Japanese agents have told Ayoub that Tuiaki would have no trouble making the jump with the transition much easier for outside backs, especially big ones with gold teeth.

F*ckers. I think he's under contract til end of 2010, but if he decides to take the money after next year(I probably would, so I wouldn't blame him), there's nothing we can do about it.

Go teach some big sumo barstards to run and leave the NRL alone.

it'll be easy to deter him from going to Japan

"Here's a steak, here's some sushi"

*tuiaki resigns with tigers for another 5 years*

He would go really good over there and considering his background was originally in RahRah he wouldnt have an issue fitting right in.

Even a barnstorming winger like TNT rely s heavily on the blokes inside to create his space. Okay he dosnt always need space, but when given space he is near unstoppable. The point, he could get bloody cold waiting for a rugby no 6 to throw him the ball.

Would he really care though if he's on massive coin?

I think it's going to get tougher and tougher for NRL teams to hang on to top class wingers like TNT with the salary cap the way it is.

No NRL team can really afford to pay a winger more than say $200,000.
Compare that to the million or so they can maybe get in Japan or Europe and it's a no brainer really.

TNT's rugby background makes him an ideal candidate, unfortunately :(

Japanese Rugby wants everybody according to the media. How many players have they got from the NRL - 2? I don't give reports like this the time of day.

Thats true tho.. Wing only jumped ship cause he blew most of his earnings on a dodgy business deal and and seen it as easy way to recoup it all. They couldnt lure benji and im sure they threw more on the table than they will offer TNT, maybe its a just managers tool( BS ) to up the contract values for their clients thus giving them a bigger slice. I wonder how much salary cap is actualy going to leeches..oh i mean player managers ?

His contract runs out at the end of next year and when he signed the one he is on now he said that its his last league contract and he wants to go play for the All Blacks so i dont know if he still wants that or his manager making up storys...Sorry any spelling mistakes its late and i am half asleep

Player managers are a blight on the game.

Just like in all jobs, your performances, contributions, impact, work ethic and loyalty should be what determines your income, not some lowlife parasitic piece of sh*t manager who is nothing more than a con artist, trying to up his clients wage so that the manager can get a bigger cut.

Player managers in all fields of sport are ripping off the players, ripping off the teams, ripping off the fans and ripping off the sport. Their only 'best interest' is how much money they can squire out of all the above mentioned.

And it's not like they do any work, all they do is leak bullsh*t lies and fabrications to the media to make clubs think their players are leaving, so as to see if they will jack up the price.

As much as it'd never happen, I'd like to see this:
Player manager reveals star player is looking at expensive ofers to jump ship
Players team releases player immidiately and says, "If you aren't loyal we don't want you"
If other teams want him they can have him, but only at the price he was on in his last season.
If he's reported to be tabling Union offers, then no Rugby League team is ever allowed to offer him a gig.

We'll soon see just how many players really are keen to change sides or play Rugby.

Hopefully it'd put a lot of managers out of buisness.

I rate Player managers on the same level as paedophiles, rapists and granny bashers.

Agree. And Sam Ayoub is the worst...but unfortunately has so many of our boys signed with him.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem if they were also acting as minders or helping the boys stay in line but they only act when it's time for another commission. My biggest rap for for Ben Teo was that he cut out Managers altogether and went door knocking. It meant he got paid a fair number and didn't have to share the money with a leech!
