Jarryd Hayne - In Big Trouble

2 weeks is harsh, when you consider Thurtson kicked Williams in the face and played that weekend

Maybe bias, as am Eels supporter, but I think there were two motions in Gibbs' action. One was falling to his knees for a slide, while the second was - simultaneous to this fall - driving his left knee, independent of the first action, into Burt's back, which was totally unnecessary.

In my opinion, it was this second action which I think deserved some sort of punishment. Maybe just 1 week - but my heart doesn't bleed for Gibbs, as he is one of the game's biggest disgraces on the field.

I totally agree that it is entirely inconsistent with Thurston. Thurston's was far worse than Gibbs, but the NRL seem to relax their policies a lot around S.O.O time, which just ends up making them look foolish when they have to deal with similar incidents, subsequent to the series, as has probably happened here.

I'll refer you to Scott, copped a 2 week suspension leading with his feet, yet did not make contact. Hayne's first point of contact was with his head. We cant suspend golden boy, can we ?

Gibbs got two, possibly three weeks, for leading with and making contact with the knees. In using this as a fair comparison to the Scott case then you probably have a point to argue - should Scott got less or Gibbs longer?

We've lost Hindmarsh for two weeks at the start of the year for leading with the feet and not making contact either.

As for Hayne.... still nothing illegal deemed to have happened.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought he might have been annointed as the new "face of rugby league".

Trouble follows that title.

Ugggggggh, good point.

NEWSFLASH!
"48 hours after being anointed the face of the NRL, Hayne was caught having a threesome with Jenna Jameson, 3 kg of cocaine and the corpse of the Queen Mother, police are unsure whether to press charges for drug possession, f**king a royal corpse that has long violated the '6 hour rule' or for doing it outside an inner Sydney primary school at 8:40am"
A British MI5 agent was quoted as stating "we don't know how he actually got out of his own country undeteced, into ours, dug the ole girl up, stuffed a live Corgy in here arse for good measure and managed to get her back into Australia undetected by customs"

Customs Australia would not comment because they were too busy seizing my f**king belt buckle, but gave a short written statement along the lines of "we need to prioritise, yes 45kg of pure uncut cocaine may have got into the country while we hassled some guy about his belt buckle, and as it turns out a rotting corpse of some note, but as a whole we keep this country safe - sincerely - Muhammed Aniefy Ayeatollah Sadam Osama Bin Blowinsh*tup.

funny what you see, depends what you're looking for....I'm not an Eels fan, but found it odd that the SMH devoted so much space to the 2 incidents.

Same season and a similar situation to Nathan Hindmarsh's knees slamming Lockyer in the face?

No charge then, why would they charge an Eel for doing the same thing now

Because Hayne did absolutely nothing wrong. Show me proof otherwise and if you can't, STFU!
