What might these reasons be? The only thing I can think of is that she wants to damage his reputation / future earning prospects and / or a payout to make this go away.

What else can the NRL do?

Not wanting to make it a police matter whilst having him sanctioned, or getting recognition of what happened, getting an apology, to name a few. It could also very well be that in taking it to the NRL, she thought she would avoid the circus, who f**king knows.

I'd say if the reasons you offer there are the only reasons you can come up with ( which could all be possible mind ) , then you aint really trying, and are viewing it from a very limited perspective of how you think people will / should behave.

People are most definitely not always rational actors, which is the main thrust of my post.

For the same reason that people shouldn't be assuming that JH is guilty, maybe others shouldn't start making assumptions about the motivations and behaviour of the young in lady in this sorry event?

.

The NRL won't sanction people until it is a police matter. Talking to the NRL won't provide recognition or an apology. The NRL (and the media that loves every bit of NRL gossip) is the biggest sporting circus in the state. How would going to them keep things quiet?

Again, for the third time, I'll post the bit you are seemingly determined to ignore............
I think it's all very well to speculate as to the reasoning behind her behaviour, however the more one leans towards believing her account the less one would expect her behaviour to be entirely rational. On the other hand, the more one leans towards it being a false accusation, the more one would expect some form of reason to inform her behaviour.

People are most definitely not always rational actors, which is the main thrust of my post.

Is this so difficult to comprehend?

Yep, we are yet to even establish that the pair even met, let alone had sex.

We can assume that they did of course, but that we can not even point to that at this stage as being an uncontested fact, is indicative of the dearth of fact upon which we can rely in order to form any opinion one way or the other.

I dont think she was dying .... i once tore the shit out of ligaments in my ankle, i didnt go to the doc for 3 days - partly cos it was the weekend and my doc wasnt available for a few days

I think none of us know jack shit about any of this so its entirely pointless to defend OR accuse him

Im guessing it will ultimately result in nothing criminal .... that doesnt mean he didnt do anything bad

Unfortunately for him his reputation is utter shit .... and i reckon there is probably plenty of fault on his part there

Assuming he gets charged, and he fights these charges, one would assume his lawyers would firstly be questioning why she waited so long to go to the doctors and police.

And who Gives a f**k about your ankle?

How about Danny Weidler stating in his article "I have not seen the doctor’s report nor the photographs"... And nor should you Danny you germ... FMD, what an ego... Like it's routine that he should have access to that sort of info but just doesn't have it in this particular instance...

From what has been reported it would seem to me that whatever happened, the story is her initial mindset after the incident was to let it go, then the sister and brother in law have become involved and have encouraged her to to do something about it.

Again that could be for all kind of reasons, from that she didn't see it as all that serious, and just wanted to move, through to being scared of acting, and any number of other things on any number of other tangents.

It's all speculation, and there is a fairly small amount of information upon which to form an opinion. We haven't even heard from Hayne on the issue, not a peep it would seem.

Could possibly be the case of sister and brother in law want her to cash in. Just saying

Has form with what? Having sex with different girls on different nights? Yeah, it's called being a professional athlete. Cool analysis mate. There's probably dozens of other casual encounters
you have never heard from. The IQ of public discourse is so bad these days.

He has no "form" until found guilty of anything. Brett Kavanaugh, Gabe Toastee or even Semi Radradra can attest to this.

Hey, i seriously think my ankle to be brought up in any ensuing court action

My point is, there is probably plenty of reasons to not go to the doctor the next day if its not some life thhreatening issue .... the most obvious reason in this case is it being a public holiday the day after

Merkin, if I sexually assaulted your ankle, would you visit the GP the next day?
