From the little I have seen of Ramsey, he looked good. I thought he looked like a winger and then read that he was playing wing, before being moved to fullback. I have considered the idea of fast tracking either Ramsey or one of the Feagai brothers as one of our wingers next year. I am of the belief that if they are good enough, they are old enough. I recall many great young outside backs debuting aged 17 or 18. I know 17 year olds aren't eligible for first grade now. Laurie Daley made his first grade debut at 17. He is probably the best 17 year old I have seen. I earmarked him and Brad Clyde as future immortals when they were 18 or 19, but they both has wretched runs with injuries. I am pretty sure Reg Gasnier debuted at 17.
Yeah Ive only seen him on that highlights clip on YouTube but he’s got size, he can pass, seems to run good lines and is brave under the high ball. I would say he will probably start FG as a winger but eventually move to fullback. I just hope he’s in the CC squad so I can watch him a bit more regularly against men.

thats not very good, oh well, they must be going with Matty Feagai instead, I ok with that I just wish wed keep Lomax as a centre combo of Lomax/Feagai would decimate all opposition, one with silky ball playing skills and footy nous and one with that aswell as raw power and mungrel
Im glad we unloaded BJ though and I hope theyre not getting any demented thoughts of swapping Zac for BJ!! seriously, that hog of his in the GF lost them the game as far as im concerned, just catch and pass fella and Canberra would be whooping it up right now instead of being rightly pissed off over those 2 god awful ref decisions.... the trainer...get off!! 3 minutes and your out there...pfft! and that six more decision should have been overruled, stopped the game....they were robbed to me but all it took was a quick pass and we wouldnt be talking refs

I love this idea for the future

Ramsey
Saab/Feagai
Lomax
Feagai
Sailor
Wishart/Flanagan
Sullivan

this backline would WRECK all opposition! specially if Flanno got hold of em!
BJ saved my arse once in Mooseheads when this massive African bloke was trying to belt me, saved me by pulling me away because I was going to go him. The results wouldn’t have been pretty. He was a good bloke I had a beer with him:joy: still has a brain fade in him though.

amazing story thanks! this is why I love our forum....maybe Im just being too harsh I wasnt the one out there on GF day! Hed be ok back here to serve the kind of mungrel power centre to go with the silky skills of Lomax, Id be happy with that

He Rapana had an Awesome combo but he's been out all year and is pretty rusty. He has a brain fade no doubt but he's still leagues ahead of what we have outside of Lomax.

Bet his manager is getting a kick up the arse. The rorters just signed up the Walker kid for over a 100 - 150k a year and as he will not ( initially anyhow as he just turned 18 ) be on the top 30 squad so his contract doesn't come under the salary cap.
That would be right.....sigh

Ramsay just won the under 20s player of the year. Hopefully he’s the CC fullback next season.

Are we talking to Tedesco. Great news. Good buy.

Yep, apparently he is worth only $700K. Dragons normally pay overs so make that $800K.

When he leaves the Roosters will be cashed up by 1.3mill because he is their marquee fullback.......along with their marqee 5/8 , marquee half back, marquee centre, marquee front rower, marquee second rowers, marquee bench utility.....

(Hope I spelt marquee correctly)

You forgot to say marquee centre(s) and rep winger, rep other front rower, fringe origin lock, old Pommie test player winger who hardly played, Friend one of the better hookers and Morris, Verrells on chicken feed

From Steeler to Dragon to Cockatoo: Jayden's giant year

You only need to briefly watch Jayden Sullivan's SG Ball highlights to realise the diminutive halfback is blessed with a rare mix of speed, electric footwork, playmaking vision and laser-like kicking.

So highly rated is 18-year-old Sullivan that St George Illawarra have signed him until 2022.

And it's not just kids his age that Sullivan is dominating.

After leading the Illawarra Steelers to the SG Ball title this year, he handled the early step to the joint-venture club's Jersey Flegg under-20s side.

He was also a key cog in the South Coast Black Cockatoos side that won the men's Koori Knockout at Tuggerah on Monday despite his slender frame.

Sullivan's silky skills were evident over the four-day tournament but the way he bounced up after several questionable tackles was most impressive.

"I just like to play footy, really. The Knockout's tough - last year I had 12 stitches in my head," Sullivan told NRL.com.

With star five-eighth Gareth Widdop departing the Dragons, Sullivan is another halves option for coach Paul McGregor to consider alongside Ben Hunt and Corey Norman.

Parramatta rookie Dylan Brown, who debuted at 18, proved in 2019 that age is irrelevant if you're equipped to handle the top flight.

Fifita devastated over Knockout loss to South Coast

"[Making my NRL debut next year] is definitely a big goal of mine," Sullivan said.

"I want to give back to my dad [Jason]. My father is all I've really had."

Sullivan played with his old man at the Knockout, making memories that will no doubt be cherished forever.

"I love playing with my mob, the south coast boys. It's good to give back to the family," Sullivan said.

One man who understands the weight of expectation at the Dragons is forgotten hooker Craig Garvey, who was hyped as a future gun as he came through the ranks in the Red V.

The 26-year-old represented South Coast with Sullivan over the long weekend and noted the improvement in his game.

"He's a lot calmer this year, he's a bit bigger. I know they've got big raps on him at the Dragons," Garvey said.

"He's a big star - just got to let him grow into it and not let him get ahead of himself."

Following on from the Koori Knockout success, Sullivan will soon be tearing into his first proper NRL pre-season.

Already being familiar with the squad will help his transition, having started training with the NRL players late this season.

"All the boys [are friendly]. My first day I went in there they were just all open arms," Sullivan said.

"Every single one of them came and talked to me."

Such was the whirlwind nature of his 2019 season that Sullivan joked that he'd almost forgotten taking out the SG Ball premiership in May.

"There's so much footy, I haven't stopped," he said.

"SG Ball was probably the highlight of my career so far. To get to captain it, even better."

Dragons fans will certainly hope Sullivan can bring his winning touch to the NRL level.

Play NRL next year ? Bit optimistic isn't it ? he has obviously not seen the NRL coaches reluctance to take any sort of proactive stance with the pathway program.

It’s interesting that Craig Garvey commented about the club not letting him get ahead of himself and I agree, he does need a year or two in reserves first before his debut. Don’t want him going the way of so many others and losing all confidence. So keen to see him play for CC next year. That alone is worth me sticking with the Dragons for another year.

Roy Masters said "once a dragon always a dragon". Think that only applies to supporters not players. Can't think of any supporters changing clubs all my mates just go quiet for a bit get excited then get knocked down again.
