Of the new album and tour, John Butler today said,
"I'm really excited to share this album with our great family of fans in Oz. Michael, Shannon and I are having a great time bringing the new songs to life on stage. The set list is so eclectic and dynamic and further deepens the journey and experience of our live shows."
WE are pleased to announce the next batch of JBT shows on their Grand National Tour of Australia....
Tickets go on sale on Friday MAy 11th except for Tasmania that goes on sale on Monday MAy 14th.
Please note some of these dates have limited tickets available through http://johnbutlertrio.oztix.com.au. These tickets will be at a slightly cheaper price than the alternative booking outlets if booked on line. When these sell out , people will need to go via the standard outlets.
Tickets for Sydney are selling very quickly so don't miss out.
Please also note that our fans have an option to buy a GREEN TICKET..
The John Butler Trio 'Grand National' tour will be carbon neutral. Emissions associated with the tour (such as concert electricity generated from the shows, air and road transportation including touring party and freight) will be calculated and a reinvestment will be made into renewable energy projects. This will effectively balance out the impact the 'Grand National' tour will have on the climate and is a positive investment to assist the current situation of global warming. People travelling to the concert by carbon transport will be able to purchase a green ticket which will incur an extra cost of 50 cents this money will also be donated to renewable energy projects to help make this a truly carbon neutral tour.
The choice is yours.... So far we are thrilled that nearly 2/3 rds of tickets for the Hordern pavilion have been GREEN!
In other good news The John Butler Trio's 'Grand National' album and Josh Pyke's 'Memories and Dust' album have been announced as the first nominees for this year's prestigious J AWARD, triple j's prize for the Australian Album of the Year.
