I mean, if this means players like Halangahu get a run now, I'm all for this. But if we replace him with a plodder..than it probably doesn't make sense.
Agree with your sediments BUT through no fault of his own - JDB is part of our problem. While he plays his guts out Jack is a small rotating prop while Stewart is in the 13 next season. Our problem upfront is that we need to swap out small props for game managing props. Stewart has the potential to be a "Carrigan type" for us... and his progress really has meant calling time on JDB. I hate seeing it as well but that is professional sport.
Halangahu has received "Fifita" comparisons. If we had signed Carrigan AND Fifita for next season would we all be happy? We may have just produced our own (at a fraction of the cost) and while a lot of us here have been calling for Flanagan to join every other coach who had no clue - or so we thought.
Isn't it about time that we joined the likes of the Knights supporters and actually cheered for our team rather than just bitching about why we think that we are so stuffed.
Let's just enjoy OUR team before it isn't there... Lets NOT try to be the first one to predict that the team will die a slow and painful death.... because that horse has well and truly bolted.
I am not trying to tell everyone that they can't be a doomsayer - l am just frustrated by the constant arguing about how stuffed we really are. l guess l am just inviting the "Real Believers" to believe. Lets raise our voice and cheer home those Mighty Red and Whites. Penrith were running last 4 weeks ago. Years ago were a laughing stock of the league. for the past 5 years they are standard. Their success came from hard work on pathways and keeping as many good ones that wanted to be part of the solution. And don't forget that the panthers watched Katoa walk to Bennett and the Dolphins.
In the background I can see that the club has worked on our pathways - the revolution may be happening !!! And yes we may lose a Latu Finua... l still think Katoa is a bigger loss and it didn't hurt Penrith.
