St George Illawarra’s longest-serving current player, Jack de Belin, is set to quit the club at the end of the season to join Parramatta.
It is understood that de Belin has agreed to join the Eels next year with Parramatta having a contract option on his services for the 2027 season also. The deal is now in the NRL’s 10-day cooling off period.
The 34-year-old was on the cusp of becoming the most-capped Dragon of all-time with his 242 game tally just 31 games behind Ben Hornby’s record.

The Dragons re-signed De Belin for a further 12 months this year and had been in talks about extending his deal by a further season.
But the Dragons veteran will instead join the Eels in 2026 with Parramatta open to securing his services before June 30. That seems unlikely given the Dragons lack of depth in the forward pack and the club have already let Finau Latu go to join Canterbury.

The Dragons play the Eels on Saturday night in a crucial match in Wollongong where De Belin has been named at lock.
He was just one of two Dragons players to play every game last season and is yet to miss a game this year.
The former NSW forward is the last remaining Dragon still on the roster to have played under former coach Wayne Bennett.
He will reunite with former Dragon Zac Lomax at the Eels next season. The Eels remain in talks with Tigers hooker Tallyn Da Silva.

The Dragons are in the midst of a roster revamp with De Belin leaving the club. Tyrell Sloan is free to go despite
having 12 months left on his contract while the likes of Blake Lawrie and Mikaele Ravalawa would also be free to leave if they found deals elsewhere. Ravalawa is on loan to South Sydney this year but is expected to return to the Dragons next year.
The Dragons have a host of forwards off-contract including David Klemmer, Viliami Fifita and Michael Molo.
