There’s probably only one coach in the NRL who could maybe squeeze something out of Sloan and thats Bennett. But Bennett still won’t be able to go out and catch the ball, finish off the tries or make the tackles. Maybe the NRL is just the wrong competition for him and there’s no shame in that. Go to England and have fun would be my advice.
agree, and he could cash in on it, like sloany a player of hes speed he would make some good money if he headed to england

Just Yahoo news yesterday speculating that Sloan would be an ideal candidate for the storm who like to sign speedsters then turn them into wingers DD.
I'd include the link but I don't know how cause I don't do social media too well but if you google Tyrell Sloan it comes up right below his details.
Thanks KK. If there was someone who could get Sloan to become a mbetter all round player it will be Bellamy or even Bennett. What Sloan needs to do is build up more and practise, practise and practise things like catching the high balls, tackling effectively, toughening up and resent being rag dolled.

Rugby league is a game that you cannot run away from being hurt. Just got to put up with the pain.

Bellamy will let Sloan know if he isn't doing stuff right and won't mince words that's for sure. Same as Bennett but with a bit more decorum.

It will be very interesting to see where he ends up and to see how he is travelling if he of course gets to play first grade again.

On it's own, the JDB decision doesn't look unreasonable. He's 34, his best years are behind him, and we have young forwards coming through. But then you look at our other recruitment decisions. Gutho, Klemmer, Cookie, all over 30 with their best years behind them. Ilias - was playing reserves for the bunnies, had a broken leg, and was unwanted by Wayne Bennett. Val Holmes - good player but only performs in big matches like finals and SOO. Guler - could still be OK I suppose but hasn't done anything yet. Bottom line - I have no faith in any of the recruitment decisions being made. They're all crap.

Look, lots say he is our best player. But apparently, he doesn't inspire other plays to excel. Why not? Wouldn't they be saying 'look at JDB, let's go with him'.

Add another name to the list of stalwart players f*cked over by this club - John Chapman, Steve Edge, Steve Morris, Brett Morris, Lance etc etc and now JdB.
Every day it gets harder to give a flying one about the future Sharks feeder club that I've supported all my life.
Rust in Pieces, St George.
I agree with you in regards to it gets harder to continue supporting the club ...
That being said, I wouldn't put Jack in the same basket as Morris etc.

The Club stood by Jack a few years ago when he was stood down.
It would have been Great for him to remain a one club player, but not at the expense of the young guys coming through .
He is 34 years old....we keep him and lose one of the younger players and everybody is up in arms.

The biggest problem is the people who have been around for ages and seemingly serving their own self interests.
The club needs a broom put through it at Board level....We have all been saying this for years.

Unfortunately, I just cannot see it happening... We will continue to just be making up the numbers...zero ambition ...it is really quite sad....rinse spin repeat year after year since Bennett left.

I unfortunately have lost the passion...the club has killed it for me....

Just not worth the angst it brings.... very little satisfaction watching games anymore....

We the supporters pay for memberships...they have offered us little over the last 12 years....

Price , McGregor coach for 7 &1/2 years ...Griffin...an absolute joke....

And we all know when Flanno is gone...Dean Young will be the man.

I could understand Jack leaving if he was leaving for a longer contact.

But he didn't, the club didn't offer him one. He's played well enough for one more year and he's still a player that you notice when not on the field.

With the Bears and PNG looming where are we going to get suitable forwards for our future. Jack was a keeper in always some capacity.
Now we are less one - who do we replace him with.

Well.
