During the game on Fox, Andy Raymond said that the club had just re-signed Jenno for "big, big dollars". I've checked the OS but can't find any article about it. Has he really re-signed? We need to keep this kid!

I don't know for sure but I did have some magazine delivered to me called Panthers spirit where the message from the chairman indicates that Jennings was poised to sign a new 3 year deal.

With the departure of Puletua and likely departure of Priddis, there are some dollars freed up under the cap for us.

My guess, would be the bulk of those dollars would be going to Jennings, Masada, Coote and Graham.

i remember hearing the same thing and being quite happy about it, hope its true or at the very least in the process of becoming true.

Jennings is definately a $350k a season player at this early stage of his career. He has Origin written all over him and hasn't (touch wood) suffered any serious knee or shoulder injuries.

IMO he will achieve the heights that Steve Renouf got to.

If we had quality EXPERIENCED halves, I have no doubt he would be the NRL's top try scorer.

With Gasnier gone there is a chance he can get that centre spot.

Just imagine if the guy was on the end of the Storm or QLD backline...the guy tears it up in a constantly underperforming team. Watching videos of his season last year it boggles the mind that people consider Folau that far ahead. Oh well, thanks to that hype, we kept Jenko and for considerably less than we would of.

It was inevitable as the sun going up tomorrow morning that Folau was going to be named rookie of the year in 2007, even though there were other candidates such as Inu and Jennings.

But if Jennings was awarded that honour, it would have been just as deserved to be honest. He was the shining light in a crap side.

Yeah that's basically it. Israel was in a fashionable side that got results. Despite Jenkos best efforts, we rarely got results. If you get a chance watch through the individual game highlights from last year on nrl.com. You'll see him flashing 80 metres down the field for an incredible try most games.
As a side note, congrats to Jenko for being named in the Aussie squad, if we can get a little way in the finals he might be a chance of making the cut.
