Jerome \"Bus\" Bettis back starting in Steel city

Jerome Bettis will make his first start of the season Oct. 26 against St. Louis as the Pittsburgh Steelers try to jump-start their struggling running game and end a three-game losing streak. Personaly I think its been long over due, and he deserves to be back at starting Runningback he`s scored on three td runs thus far this year. :) ;-)

Coach Bill Cowher later downplayed the move why??
Because Bettis and Amos Zereoue have split time in recent weeks.

Bettis, the No. 10 rusher in NFL history, had 34 yards on 14 carries in a 17-14 loss at Denver on Oct. 12, while Zereoue had 15 yards on 10 carries. I think Zereoue has alot to learn and quite frankly, furthur more... I think Bettis is going to single handedly lift his side to a win over the St.Louis Rams. No one can bring the bus down he`s a heck of a load to bring down at that too, I love watching him run always have :) and I think he`s going to run right thru, around, under and over his old team the Rams. Possibly for 100 yards rushing on the day.

if the rams do shut him out they gotta play the same way they did against ahman green and the green bay packers...ahman was hit hard every play..that rams d is looking good..but bettis is alot stronger and bigger then ahman..you never know..he might tire em out and with amous zeroue back there they can be a huge threat.

when i say amous zeroue is a big threat.. i dont mean his great..i mean if your power back is hurting them then ur speed back should be able to run at will through them.

jerome bettis should be the running back for the steelers forever. they should clone him and get him ready again because the steelers are a special side and Bettis characterises all that they are about. What a champion. The AFC north may be the crappiest division but teams like cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are the best part of the NFL (and that's my unbiased view!!!!). Wraps must also go to the packers, the bears and all other teams like them. i hate seeing teams like tampa bay win superbowls. I just hate it.

i second that whole heartedly!!! tampa bay are my new worse enimies. it would be better to see some of the other teams do well especially AFC north. it would mean there would be alot more competition in the NFL overall.

Think about how bad the superbowl was for me last year!!!! I hate the Raiders so much, and the more the match went on the more i hated Tampa. I was hoping for some sort of double disqualification. Or at least a lot of career ending injuries

well...thats a bit harsh to say the least. i mean, i hate tampa bay quite alot but i woulnt want to see any of their players get broken necks. man, you must really hate them. is there any reason why that is?

Ummm getting side-tracked lol, oh well. Getting back to the Rams vs Steelers match, apparently.........ummm Arlen Harris is the SH_IT!!!! he ran the ball 34 times for 81 yards and went paydirt 3 times!, on the other side of the flip, Jerome Bettis didn`t get much of the ball unfortunately! he only ran 12 times for a meager 42 yards rushing. Tommy Maddox apparently didn`t give him up too much, altho they should have given Bettis the ball more because Maddox was in-effective throwing 2 td`s and 3 picks in the Steelers 33-21 loss.

Firstly to Shagmop, I was joking about the injuries, no one anywhere should actually wish that on anyone.

And I didnt see this game either (I didnt get my fix of NFL at all today  ), but Harris was only averaging less than 3 yards a carry, thats far from being the SH_IT as you suggested. 3 Touchdowns is nice, but from those stats it looks like he just finished off Bulger and Holts good work.

Did anyone see what happened to Plax? He only got 1 reception for 6 yards

Plaxico Burress you`ll find has some sore ribs and a battered head after taking a couple`a shots deep across the middle lol.... Arlen Harris comon paullyboy it was his "FIRST" NFL start at HB, scoring three tds makes up for his lack of production PC (PER CARRY) wouldn`t you say so???sheesh. You got high standards do ya mate?

I just think that when you have the St Louis offensive line to work with (and lets not kid ourselves, that makes up half a good running game, a team with a bad o line is going to struggle no matter who is RB), you should be doing better than 3 yards a carry.

Yeh he is due back, but its hard not to be thinking that he wont last long untill he goes down again, which is absolutely tragic as he has been my favourite ever running back to watch and injuries have hindered a once untouchable player.
