While he has headed the Jazz, there have been 245 coaching changes around the league -- 13 alone by the Los Angeles Clippers, and five current NBA teams (Charlotte, Memphis, Toronto, Orlando and Minnesota) did not even exist when Sloan took the helm in Utah.

Jerry Sloan retiring is one of the biggest stories of the year. He was coaching the Jazz before I was born. I can see Utah dropping right off now.

Big ups to Ray Allen for surpassing Reggie's 3pt record. I don't think anyone will catch Ray who still has a few years in him to possibly get to 3,000 if he plays long enough but even Jesus Shuttlesworth couldn't stop the Lakers from an impressive second half dominance over Boston.

That's sad news about Jerry Sloan particularly if this bust up with Deron is the reason hes been a fantastic coach for a while and not many people in the game are as respected as he is but the way the Jazz found ways to lose that game against the Bulls I'm not surprised he had enoug,

Anybody catch that Mavs/Nuggets game? Wow, what a game one of the best I've seen for a while Afflalo came up huge in the 4th.

Apologise for meddling, felt as though it deserved it's own thread.

Will be wierd seeing the Jazz without Sloan as the head coach.

Kinda sad that he never won COTY in his career.

What's wierd is that iirc, didn't he just recently sign a 1 year extension with the Jazz?
