Jersey and Logo talk

There is a bloke in the NRL forum who does Jersey re-designs as a bit of a hobby. He's really good and has done a very good job on alot of clubs who have horrendous jerseys, encouraging a move back to clean simple lines and colours. I'm not so sold on the work he has done with us, but have a look yourself.

I honestly believe our standard home Jersey is one of the best in the NRL and it annoys me when they tinker with it.

I also think that we should re-do our logo and go back to a classic design. I hate that things always have to be "modern" as they tend to age badly, whereas classics just get better and also improve brand leverage. Imagine we moved back to this?

100% agree with the logo. The old logo that's on the black hoody they sell this year (and on hats etc). That's the best one. The current one means nothing to me.

While I prefer the even older one shown on the retro jersey above, that logo seems to have resonance. People love it and those retro items you have described are hot sellers.

I reckon our two worst jerseys are below.

This was a design made witha a move to gosford in mind. The "Winnie Blues" packet. Hisense sponsor in a box. Black side panels. Awful.

This one was bad too. The wrong colour. Gills. LG in an ugly box. Bits all over the joint. Shithouse.

That's the one Newman. Haven't been around long enough so for me that's the first one I remember. It's a classic.

Wish they'd go back to the traditional shorts as in the first pic. The current shorts are shyzenhousen.

GAZF generally designs good stuff but that first one is not one of his best. Look like a cheap polo shirt.

The second one is the shiz.

The Vs will always be my fave and IMO will always be known as the trad. jersey.

Logos: I'd speculate that many people favour the logo that was borne on the jersey at the genesis of their Sharkzaphrenia.

The first logo with a Sharks was used in 1968 and was prett ordinary.

The first logo ever was this and even with no shark on it I tend towards it a little.

Billy's son is the publican at the Golden Sands Tavern, Nambucca Heads.
