Tane Puki, who now represents New Zealand in rugby and touch rugby, and works full-time at Sports Southland, says the academy allowed him to concentrate on his sporting aspirations while remaining at school.
“The academy encouraged me to break down barriers and gave me the courage and confidence to believe in myself. I was recently approached by (the Australian) West Tigers Rugby League team and I am now living my dream.”

Now here is a kid who can play..Tane Puki...remember the name. Was fullback for the All Blacks Under 19 team beaten by the Junior Wallabies at the 2006 World Cup in Dubai..
The closest thing I've seen to Matt Bowen..SUPER is one word to describe him.

I would like to see Kimon come back but i haven't heard anything about him for next season.

Yeah Esber is a big guy. Do you know what school or club he is from?

Esber goes to st pius x college, chatswood. His age group at pius is probably gonna be the best ever, their captain is the nsw sydney captain and theyve won every competition since year 7.

Have you seen him play yet? Didn't realise he was a league till i had a look at the squads..

Yeah i have seen him in some trials and he has played pretty well.

It is good to know he is a local.

Good ol' Brod, went to Baulkham Hills High School, graduated 2005. When he was in year 9 & i was in year 7 he was my swimming instructor, good bloke, smart nut & helped out with the footy team at school. Big bloke, runs hard, in the Webcke mould.

From what I remember, he's not local. I think he goes for Parramatta, so he's around that region?

Brod goes ok...he's a grafting frontrower who will cart it up all day if he can, he's hands do let him down at times but in a busted side he was one of our best...I think he even won the coach's award for the MVP this season.

He may well stuggle getting into the starting side this year with the Justin Wood, Kyle Schuster, tim Mannah, and Duane Poneki all fighting for 2 spots

Does anyone have the Roosters squads? I have been told that my cousin (Joel McIntyre) is trialling for their SG Ball team, as a hooker.

Yeah William Hopoate was playing Under-14s this year.

So he could play Harold Matthews for 2 years.

It is not that uncommon. Most teams have 2, 3 or 4 players who play up an age group in the Harold Matthews.

Excellent..... if his development continues, who knows how far he can go.

I don't want to get you all toey, but he has been compared to SBW at the same age. This was the reason why the Manly club didn't want to rock the boat when John retired from football last year, I believe John was well looked after in retirement ;-)

Hey Girvie,

I was told yesterday that the Norths Mathews side is down to a squad of 30 and will be trimmed to 22 in the next few weeks, the player to watch out for is Mitchell Newman who's been apparently training the house down.

He's actually getting some personal training from an ex first grader who only retired from the game last year.
