We have f**king great depth yet we see no results.

In a few years we'll have a few of those guys coming back and biting us in the arse.

f**k off the dead wood and throw these young guys in.

How long have we had Raftery for btw? He was a real stand out against souths and I wanna find out some more about him.

What is the PL side?

Raftery moved up after Ball this year K. I think the club rate him highly and he has being a de la boy on his side.

That forward pack is massive and would rival our NRL pack for size. Only Selmes seems to be missing from that side and he is the biggest of the lot. Despite Saints dominating Flegg this year there is no reson why we cannot take this comp out.

We drew 20 all with Saints and scored 4 tries to 3, so we gotta be a chance. But I guess that's what our problem is at the Sharks: we're always looking to the GF instead of the next game. Eels are gonna be tuff.

As NCL pointed out, Flegg is pretty much back to full strength. Only youngsters who've stayed with Newtown are Aitken and J Green who've been there all year. I think we should be able to challenge for the title with that side. What worries me though, is seeing yet another Cronulla side picked with only 1 play maker. I think that 5/8 is a forward. Blayney I guess will come on at some stage.

Anyway, if we do go on with it, the positive for mine as always, is seeing the real younger players in the team. Lovegrove, Brown and Rafferty are all young enough to play SG Ball. This is a massive positive.

Neilson as well. He was Raftery's centre partner in the De La 18s this year.

Only Selmes appears to be missing. This side can win it. I've seen them play some great games this year. Then they've had the occasional off game, like against Manly. On their game they can go all the way, IMO.

Sure it's the same Neilson? This one is from Mackay and has been in Flegg all year?

Mitch BROWN was great in his Premier League debut game. Only played one game in Prems this season however scored a try on debut. He is fast and fleet footed, possibly just needs to put on a bit of size however is only young, so definately will.

DOUGLAS, DOIG, NEILSON, PELO, LOVEGROVE also played a few Prem/League games this season some of the boys finding the try line. Some good talent in this side.

I am hoping for a Sharks victory then a grand final against St George illawarra of which the Sharks hopefully win......

Here is some info on matt raftery. last year didn't even play league was too busy finishing school and playing union for them. not sure which one but they play in the GPS comp.
played a trial eith the development squad last august against a touring team from new zealand. apparently he carved them up that night and hasn't loked back.

during ball this year he carved up every game he played. had an uncany ability to know where the ball would bounce or where a hole would open. standing behind the boys when they put on a play during the game it was obvious he was putting himself int he right spot.

played mostly second row and was consistently top tackler and top hit up. not too mention most line breaks. top try scorer too i think.

all the skills and a top kid too. willing too listen and learn.
