I know there's been plenty said about him in the trial threads, but I've finally had a chance to watch the second trial and I thought he deserved his own thread.

He was very impressive in both hit outs for sure.

Reading up on him, he seems to have come from the clouds: on the bench for Flegg at the start of the season but worked his butt off to earn his spot and, eventually win the Coaches Player award.

This year, a similar story with him putting in massively to earn his spot amongst the NRL trial squads for both trials.

As has been said by many in here, he played very well in both.
Aside from what he did with ball-in-hand, he wasn't afraid to roll his sleeves up in defense. He obviously has a great work ethic.
In short: a Fitz kind of player.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.

In a game where we had so many "big names" stand up and play well as expected. For the young bloke to stand out the way he did is a massive effort.
I loved his effort to stop Naden from scoring. The try was disallowed and the game was well and truly won but he still got himself into position to hold Naden up over the line. Eventually momentum got Naden to ground but colqhoun had no right to be there anyway. One of those cliche Never give up, 1% plays from the young fella.

Was very impressed but would like to see if he can play on an edge as that’s our weakest depth and could squeeze himself on to the bench if so. Once we are full strength our middle depth is huge

Hey it ain't like the guy is chewing cap that much cap space.

Certainly adds value to the squad.

Needs a nickname, we can’t keep trying to spell that name. And Jesse is already taken.

Colquhoun ( kə-HOON) is a surname of Scottish origin. It is a habitational name from the barony of Colquhoun in Dunbartonshire. The name is possibly derived from the Gaelic elements còil ("nook"), cùil ("corner"), or coill(e) ("wood") + cumhann ("narrow"), or comh-thonn ("the beating of waves together").
