We need a replacement for Casey Hampton who has gone backwards at a rate of knots

Would like to see him in a Redskins jersey. He could play a few years behind Cofield, Bowen and Carriker in D.C., and the hopefully replace on of them. But I dont see him going that late in the 2nd based in currect rankings on him.

I also dont see us addressing D-line if there are any Safeties available.

His replacement is probably already sorted with Steve McLendon, coaches rate him and have been grooming him for a while. We've got other needs at the top of the draft.

Wing will be in the 2013 NFL draft http://sports.yahoo.com/news/lsu-eric-reid-headed-nfl-193706315--ncaaf.html

Does it seem strange that a redshirt would annouce leaving uni early to enter the draft?

Whilst I think he carries on like a pork chop - his stats speak for themselves.

He is the best college punter as it is, so his time will be wasted playing more college football, it is not as if he will improve his draft stocks - after all, he is only a punter. He just wants two extra years of paychecks - which is fine.

He will be the first punter picked IMO. I have even read some articles where they think he is the best punter to enter the draft in recent memory.

I've been watching Williams for the past few months, and tuned in to the BCS Champ game yesterday. I really want to like him but to be honest I find him way overrated.

I paid close attention to him and he seems to be a first-round pick in every mock draft I've seen. I did think he looked pretty good against Georgia, but even off that game I didn't think he looked like a first-rounder. After this game he still doesn't to me. Even though the Alabama defense smothered Notre Dame, Williams didn't jump off the screen. He's very strong at the point of attack, but he's a plodder. He's not particularly quick, he doesn't penetrate very often, and he has no range at all. You can't run at him, but it isn't very hard to run around him as he has no range at all, and he's no factor at all against the pass.

I would take Sylvester Williams and even Bennie Logan way before Williams

He doesn't penetrate because he doesn't need too. He occupies double teams regularly, letting his linebackers do all the sexy stuff. Same goes for the pass rush - it is a noted deficiency of his - but it is really only because he plays in a scheme where it isn't really required of him.

That is my view anyway.

I personally think he's a 3rd rounder at best, plenty of other NT prospects I like better

Either way, I just hope he makes it into the league.

Oh he will, no doubt, he will probably go in the 2nd round and at worst will be rotational Dlineman in the league.

I think he could be a good starter as a run plugging DT in a 4-3 next to an pass rushing DT.

I just don't view him as an elite 3-4 NT prospect, an that's a major need for the 49ers going into this draft

If Dan Williams goes in the first round, so will Jesse Williams

He isn't your pass rushing NT, but he will occupy blockers and allow his LB's to shine.

It'll depend on the system of the team that drafts him.

He needs to go to a place where the LB's are fast and athletic...a place like Steelers makes sense and so does the Redskins. A place even like the Jet's makes sense.

I think once he breaks the bench press record at the combine his draft buzz will go from late first/early second to well entrenched in the first round.

I'm predicting Williams will have a poor combine outside the bench pressing. His other drills will let him down IMO.

They are all that infatuated with his bench press I don't think anyone will notice the other drills.

Edit: I have also read a few times that he possesses great quickness and footwork for a man of his size - so it will be interesting.

The big fella is back in Brisbane this week and is all over the news which is awesome.

As for his draft spot, who knows, he might be the #2 DT taken, maybe way further down. It all depends on what scheme needs a run stopper like him.

What number he goes doesnt really matter - its where he ends up that counts. Also remember that 50% of all draft picks flop - and that includes plenty of 1st and 2nd rounders.

Please be the Steelers!
