Finally caught up with the ad. After all the hype I was expecting something out of this world. Sadly it was along way from being that.

For a fair part of the ad I couldn't hear the words being sung. The ad really did nothing for me. But then again was it meant to?

Re the AFL ad, it is interesting how they are really going to town with the "Australia's" game line. Much like union took the "Rugby" brand it is clear to see what AFL are trying to do with branding themselves Australia's game.

This is the final year of what is apparently a three year campaign iirc

Continued obsession with how they're perceived worldwide.

Whilst blocking the advert from being seen on youtube by (at least) those in the UK.

That's some impressive idiocy right there.

Plus when I finally see it, it appears to be a load of people getting a little too excited over guys catching a ball when jumping... over and over... seriously?

Notice there is at least one shoulder charge featured in that highlights package.

Not unusual for illegal play to be used in promotion of the game. I think I've seen about 4000 fights in adverts promoting Origin. I think every Origin ad in the mid-late 90's showed Harrogan and Bella having a crack.

I haven't seen the new NRL ad yet.
