Yes 6 tries to 2 and we bombed another 3. A very dour game with lots of dropped ball and our forwards belted their forwards with several Cougars needing to receive treatment in defence and attack.

The boys are a lot stronger this year and more physical so hopefully injuries will be minimal given the type of defence we have adapted.

Today the Jets Jim Beam have their final trial against Belrose with many of last years Premier league players fronting up.

Our first try was disallowed in about first five minutes. Then Penrith scored and converted to make it 6 nil.

Phillip LEULUAI who was certainly our best player, then barged his way over however we missed the goal to make it 6 to 4.

Number 4 Beau SCOTT then scored ( missed goal ) 8 to 6 Jets way.

number 14 Jon GREEN scores. Goal missed. Jets 12 cougars 6.

HALL who has a great game throughout sets up Merrit then converts to make it Jets 18 Penrith 6.

Then MERRITT scores again ( converted by HALL ) Jets 24 Penrith 6.

Penrith score. But miss goal. Jets 24, Penrith 10.

Number 11. Reece WILLIAMS scores and HALL converts. Jets 30. Penrith 10 final score.

Jets looked electric when they had the ball, and actually bombed about five trys they should have scored.

Phillip on report for that high tackle is not good. I was watching it through the binoculars, it looked kinda highish.

Will be interesting how he goes at judiciary with Sharks support this time around ??
We even got the penalties in our favour at times.

Think COOKEY on the wing would have done a better job than PELO, or even Mellor.

MERRIT at fullback was a great move. He can score from anywhere. Top player. A real try scorer with a top football head.

Cant remember a win like that since the year 2000 when we first entered the comp. I think we beat Penrith then about 40 something to twenty something. This time the boys won by 20 points and kept them down to only two trys.

Penrith had a full strength side and played well. They are a good side. The Jets just out played them.

Just wanted to say how much quicker the Jets are with the ball this season.

The players fitness is at a high standard. They really wore Penrith down I reckon.

Full stea of six, then HALL would put a good kick in and we would tackle them in goal and get the ball back. Must have happened about 6 times. Great to see. Was multiple tackles made taking penrith players ball and all over the side lines as well.
