I hope the coaching staff at the Demons select players with size in the forwards and players who can tackle in the backs, otherwise the Rhinos will put on a 50 plus score.

based on what u guys have seen this season who would u have as your rep jim beam cup team any bolters ?
Asquith backrower Ryan Wheeler is my bolter.

Chris Tuatara should make the squad. Desai Gupwell would be another who should probably make it.

well the rhinos are missing there two starting props so it will be interesting but the rhinos strength has been there devastating backline although rhys ellis should be returning and he is a great 2nd rower and they do have some depth in the pigs expect travis robinson to be pushed into the front row

PROP Cheyne Lennon made a successful return from a shoulder injury as The Entrance beat long-time rival Wentworthville in the Jim Beam Cup on Sunday.

Lennon was injured in a trial match and played no part in the club's first four matches.
But he made a strong contribution off the bench as the Tigers beat the Magpies 24-16 at Bateau Bay Oval.
Also making a return off the bench was former premiership-winning forward Steve Ekepati, who has not played in the Jim Beam Cup since 2004.
``The return of those guys was a highlight for us on Sunday,'' Tigers coach Jamy Forbes said.
``We knew Cheyne was coming back from injury but Steve has been out for a couple of years and we're confident he'll make a big difference to us for the rest of the season.''
The Tigers led 18-4 at half-time and withstood a fightback in the second half.
``We never looked in danger of losing,'' Forbes said.
The Tigers are in fifth place on the ladder and take on Sydney Bulls at Crest Stadium, Bankstown on Friday night.
Meanwhile Erina moved into seventh place with a tough 28-6 win over Seven Hills at Erina Oval on Sunday.
The Eagles played a tight style against Seven Hills but held a 16-0 lead midway through the first half. Second-rower David Vial scored two tries.
Erina are away to Cabramatta on Saturday night.

Interesting to see that Parramatta has given Alf Betham to Mounties this week rather than directing him to the Demons.

The Sydney Bulls have reached agreement with the Bulldogs to have their Flegg game against Newcastle played as a warm up to the Bulls vs Asquith at the Crest on 5 May. The Flegg will play at 2 and the main game at 3.30.

Is alf a mounties junior?

sweet F A,

they been sending back flegg players, all of em playing A grade, not up to scratch for JBC.

I think wenty registered 4 or so parra premier league players last week.

have a feeling parra is keeping its options open for club it will align with next year for reserve grade comp. Wenty are the obvious favourite but mounties are cashed up and have been throwing cash parra's way for years.

Until last tear Alf Betham was playing rugby union in NZ, Somehow he ended up playing A Grade for St Doms last year. Cahalane who took over as coach of P/L when Taylor took over 1st grade is a Doms man so I guess he directed him to Parra where he had a trial in 1st grade. His cousin, Francis plays in the centres for Cabramatta.

I guess he goes in on 2 points.

The Entrance 10 (A Moore 2 tries & a goal) beat Sydney Bulls 8 (S Koroi try, S El Masri 2 goals) at the Crest last night.

The Tigers were really excited when the final siren sounded - their first win in Sydney against the Bulls in 6 attempts. The Tigers were very physical with gang tackles all night, no mistake footy in attack and Alex Moore igniting at the first sign of slackness in the defence. The addition of Lennon and Ekepati makes a huge difference to the side that played the first couple of games.

The Bulls went into the game without Jolly, Mostyn, Ford, Naiqama, 2 Mansours and Deeb. In the second half halves Millwood and DeBartolo also left the field injured to leave an almost unrecognisable side. The Entrance led 4-0 at half time but the Bulls hit back shortly after the restart and went further ahead when they took the 2 points following the offence on DeBartolo (on report). The goal option was an admission that there was vitually no attack left on the field.

The 3-6 penalty count in the first half was managable but 5 consecutive penalties (usually on the 5th) to the Tigers in the last 20 minutes meant that the Bulls had to defend 18 tackles a couple of times and while the boys did well they cracked the second time.

No doubt Puna, Suli, Koborsi, Frank Winterstein and Adnan Saleh were stars in junior reps but is a different proposition at this level.

It gets worse with the Bulls up against leaders Belrose next week

Cabramatta 34 (M Gruzka 4, G Britcher 2, R Brown tries, A Tippett 3 goals) beat Erina 12 (R Turbridy, Z Collette tries, H Karena 2 goals)

Cabra got back on track with punishing defence and some quality backline work with Matt Gruzka getting 4 touchdowns. The man feeding him, Francis Betham, scored 5 for Wenty against Newtown in 2002.

Mounties 36 beat Shellharbour 16. The Marlins competed in the first 20 minutes to trail 6-4 but after that the Mounties backline scored at regular intervals to lead 36-4 until the Marlins got a couple of consolations in the last 5 minutes. Dan Russell scored twice. Mercer, Butler, and Herekotukuku also scored with Russell kicking 6 goals.

Belrose 22 (T Barrow 2, D Pangai, T Joseph tries, R Plummer 3 goals) beat Windsor 17

The lead ebbed and flowed and the locals thought they had it won when Ryan Russell landed a drop goal 5 minutes from the end. Belrose got a penalty on their own quarter with 90 seconds on the clock. Curtis took the ball to the line offloaded to Pangai who split the defence and put Joseph over in the corner.

Wenty 48 (S Mowbray 2, M Luland 2, B Bailey, A Fluke, S Micallef, S Gwynee tries, Mowbray 8 goals) beat Asquith 8 (M Curtis, Corey Stowers tries)

Wenty started Ok but fell away to lead only 12-8 at half time. They were much better in the second half.

Seven Hills bt Chester Hill 24-10

Demons gave up so much ball and failed to complete sets in the first 25 mins, but their defence was great and chester hill only managed to post one try(ellis) in that time.

last 10 was all demons they got there act together and crossed twice through fallon and johansen, went into the break demons 10-4.

second half saw demons post two more through joe swamy and arron brown.

armit crossed for the rhinos.

If Dave Johansen doesn't make the rep squad i'll run around naked:crazy:

he has played 80 mins every game we have played and his last hit up and tackle are just as hard as his first. He played half of the game today in the front row. In the 5 teams we have played i have not seen a better 2nd rower.

Great to see the Demons open their account. Aaron Brown played a bit with Doonside last year, should good OK. The rep team last year had as many players from wooden spooners Asquith as the Bulls and Cabra combined, so dont expect too much logic in those selections.

A good performance imagine if they had a high completion rate with the ball,Dave Johansen was very good as usual and I thought the 1/2 back Couri played well, then again it was a good performance by all, Johansen should get a shot at the rep squad, and in the backs Peachey, he constantly gets on the outside of his opposition and gets the ball to his winger it is a shame that Cameron does not have genuine speed.
Its great to have a win:D :)

Any injuries one_eyed_demon ??

Micheal johnson and ali trad should return from injury this week

it wasnt that seven hills played good it was that chester hill played soooooo bad any team would have taken the win off them that game hopefully they can turn things around against cabbra it hurt the rhinos missing there two starting front rowers they had no go forward and let in some very soft tries especially one off a terrible kick and they struggled to get the ball out wide due to the conditions terrible terrible game of footy

In most instances you can only play as good as the other team lets you, also the Demons were missing both there starting props and 1/2 back, the Rhinos struggled to move the ball due to good defence by the Demons.
