Jodie McKay for Knights Board

In yesterdays Newcastle paper, and radio today was a story that Jodie McKay (Labour state member) will be standing for the Knights board at the next election. Don't know about you but I wont be voting for her. She's been very unimpressive since winning the seat gifted her by Morris Llema. Spends a lot of time talking about nothing, we don't need her on the board.

So she will be like many others that have come and gone in parliment and the Knights board...

Lets face it what good has it been having Harrogan on the board.... it has not helped us get more Sunday games and lets not forget he was too busy working for C9 at a crucial board meeting, the one that related to the number of NRL appointed board members, when he had a large number of proxy votes in his possession.

I am no Jodi McKay fan but she has no less merit then some of the nuffies that have come before her.

As already mentioned, our board dosn't seem to be remarkably skillful. The benefit of having a State Member on the board, will outweigh any ineffectiveness in actual governance? At least I think so.

Well perhaps you can use the strength of the Crusade to try and lever PK or someone in? Not this year but within the next few? That seems to be the most logical course if you want a fans representative.

I assume without a natural position of prominence it would be difficult. How would you get your name out there to the majority of Knights' members? Can I be your press agent? Maybe even your Karl Rove?

I realise that, but how would you even commence going about it? Campaign posters?

well

I know a fair few people that would be handy to know - whether they would be advocates for me I don't know, but I could certainly ask.

other than that I don't think posters etc would be the way to go. a mailout to members perhaps. and also each candidate gets to write a little blurb on themselves in the info pack that goes to members.

I think most candidates rely on being known for sporting or business accomplishments - most long term board members (Real NRL excepted) are local high-flyers of some sort.
