souths are currently an embarressment to the nrl along with the knights.
they lack outstanding players hence their position on the ladder.

i will give you luke mcdoug as he is a fair player but apart from that i dont see much threat in the rabbits team sorry.

I hope that this is the way that the Storm players think. Because they will get a rude shock. As Manly found out a few weeks ago.

Souths have something to look forward to don't worry about that

STARS
Ashley Harrison
Peter Cusack
John Sutton

Good players
Shannon Hegarty
Luke Stuart
Scott Geddes
Scott Logan
Adam MacDougall

But they have inconsistant players in Luke MacDougall and Mark Minichiello (as someone said 1 tops game 4 bad ones).

Joe Williams is one of my favourite players (coming from a Dragons supporter in Perth) he has to get his 'attitude' problems sorted.

I still think they have reserve grade players trying to cut it in firsts Polglase, Watts, Fa'alogo (going ok), Roy Bell.

My strongest Souths side would be

01. Todd POLGLASE
02. Luke MacDOUGALL
03. Adam MacDOUGALL
04. Shannon HEGARTY
05. Brad WATTS
06. John SUTTON
07. Joe WILLIAMS (g/k)
08. Peter CUSACK
09. Shane WALKER
10. Scott LOGAN
11. Bryan FLETCHER
12. Mark MINICHIELLO
13. Ashley HARRISON (c)

14. Scott GEDDES
15. David FA'ALOGO
16. Luke STUART
17. Trent YOUNG

I think that side shows promise and going over the past 3 weeks, its finally coming together, hopefully the man they call Joey lifts the side to another level.

How's Luke Stuart going? I've got a soft spot for him, since he's a Cronulla junior and all.

Mick Moran related to Denis?

And what happened to Scott McLean and Pethybridge?

Its pretty hard to start from scratch after been given the boot from the comp. The rest of the comp had a head start when they got readmitted. You cant build a dynasty overnight.

Melbourne in the comp in 1998 winners in 1999.
Canterbury in in 1935 winners in 1938.
Canberra in in 1982 in the GF by 1987 winners by 1989.

I understand what you mean about Souths but the fact is Souths have not even moved forward in 4 years. They should have at least made some improvement. This years June 30 means so much to Souths they really need to get some of the available talent or they run the risk of slipping further down the abyss.

Moran is back, Williams out.

Well that was hardly worth looking forward to! :x

With Peachey going to Widnes, there is also no way the Sharks will let Merrit go.

Melbourne had an unfair advantage with an increased salary cap, and tons of money from Mr Murdoch.

Denis and Mick are cousins.
Mclean is playing for Norths.
Pethybridge retired and is dabbling in investment property.

Melbourne also got to pick the eyes out of Hunter.

Melbourne had the players of the failed hunter and perth teams. Those were pretty impressive players. Canterbury in 1938 is absolutely irrelevent due to te difference in the laws of the game and the way it was played. I see what you mean but with a club with a recent history like Souths would find it hard to build a premiership team in a short space of time.
