Johns gets two weeks

Andrew Johns will miss the clash with the Tigers this week and the all important game against Saints next week in what will be the defining game for their season in regards to the final placings. I predicted yesterday Johns would get two weeks and Bulldogs forward Willie Mason has received one week from the judiciary and will miss the blockbuster against Parramatta tomorrow night.

Does that f**k up his (cemented)Dally-M Player of The Year Award ?

It sure does. He has virtually handed over the award to Campbell as the rules of the dally-m state you become ineligible once youu have been suspended. he got what he deserved and paid a very heavy penalty.

This means that Joey Johns has missed out on a record third Dally M award.

Can someone please put up the current Dally Mcontenders list or a link to a website that has the list?

Thanks.

Serves him right.
It was a stupid and highly unprofessional act ..... especially from a player of his experience andcredibility.
So f**k him !

He did the wrong thing. Simple as that. The telling factor was that it was viewed as deliberate and rightly so. No player, even Johns, is above the law.

Ozbash, I would say it's a race to the line between Jones and Campbell and this weekends match may go a long way to deciding on an overall winner.

This is from the RLPA website. www.myfooty.com.au

I agree that Joey should've been suspended, but there have been so many suspensions this year that the Dally M's are becoming a farce.

They are trying to turn the physical aggressive game into a a goody, goody game for fairies. Only ball-boys will be left soon to win the coveted 'Best and Fairest'.

Maybe there should be two awards, 'Best' and 'fairest'.

For Johns to still be in contention after missing8 weeks with injury shows that he is far and away the best player this season. Anyone else who wins it now does so knowing he only got it because of Johns' 'moment of madness'.

Oh well, there is always next year.

(The results of the Dally M's will be hidden for the final 6 rounds of the Premiership.)

JBS, thanks for the list and link.

From the Sportal website:

"A brain scan on Sharks five-eighth Adam Dykes has returned a "grossly abnormal" reading, raising concern over his health and forcing him out of Saturday's match against the New Zealand Warriors. The Sharks said Dykes had been sluggish all week and had been restricted to light training after suffering concussion when Newcastle captain Andrew Johns hit his head with a forearm in a tackle during last Sunday's win at Toyota Park." Two things: 1) Brings back memories of Ritson v Lomax. 2) Warriors shouldbeat theSharks this weekend now that Peachey and Dykes are outof thisgame...the main two playmakers for the Sharks although Preston Cambell is still there as a gamebreaker.
