I would not be making claims like that untill I have seen the guy play in union. You would need to know if he can dictate play as well as he did in league. Also depends on were they play the guy as they could throw him in at halfback, first 5 or even second 5. I would rate merhtens or even carlos has better players in union for dictating play and untill we have seen Johns in union it is a little premature for claiming him as the best.

Johns would disctate dont worry about that. Better kicker, far better defender and better on his feet. Plus he can kick goals as well. No contest

Its really hard to judge. Nobody can positively say that a player will make it in the other code. We can speculate till the cows come home, but we will never really know until they try.

Most likely Johns would do very well in Union, but there is also a possibilty that he might just not perform in the game. Same the other way around.

I think Johns would be good in Union, but i would not want to see him join because i am very excited about the future of Giteau. Also for the reason that he can keep the Kangaroos ahead of those Kiwi's too.

I'm not saying he wouldnt be a great union player, but theres more involved than an individuals one on one defence, ability to run the ball, passing game etc, etc.
He would have to gain an understanding of the various offensive & defensive patterns, deal with often having less space to work in, be prepared to kick a lot more & usually a lot further & often under a lot more pressure, and to a degree, will only be as good as his coach & players around him will allow. Fly half is a pivotal position, but just as pivotal is the kind of service he receives from those around him.
A lot would depend on whether Joey actually enjoyed playing the game, too.

Shame we'll probably never get to see how he'd go.

Johns would be the best no qestion. He tackles like a backrower., best passing game in both codes and best short and long kicking game in the world.

And for those of yous who said calos would be beter and is more creative hes not even near the top flyhalfs in the world now. He looked like a f**king fool agaist Aus his kicking was atrosius and every time someone runs at him he miss's them.
Carlos is the most over rated player he sould have never been in Allblacks he cant handle the presure of it.
