Johns won't change - Hagan
Sportal
Newcastle coach Michael Hagan says he doesnt expect Andrew Johns to change his playing style despite the halfbacks serious neck injury last year.
Johns missed last years finals campaign as well as the Kangaroo Tour after suffering the injury in August but Hagan expects the Knights skipper to continue with his normal workload throughout the coming season
"It would be difficult to change his instinctive way of play," Hagan told AAP.
"It's difficult to take him out of the frame."
"We're anticipating that he'll be able to do nearly everything within the next couple of weeks," he said.
Hagan admitted he is considering using Johns in this months Sevens tournament.
"He wouldn't have had great preparation ... we'll assess him in the next couple of weeks," he said.
"But we'll have a competitive squad nonetheless."
Newcastles first match of the NRL season is against defending premier Penrith in March.
