Having his best season in ages. I never really rated him at Newcastle over the past couple of years but the sea change has done him wonders. He has been Manly's most consistent prop this year by far.

It's good to see a player lift their game after a poor patch. Well done.

Great example of a player who needed a change of scenery..his first run in first grade was from the kick off and he went straight thru the line for about 60 meters and newcastle thought holyyyyyy crap what have we got here!!!!...made the NSW side for 1 game..but he really was in a rut in newcastle.over weight and lazy..glad hes reaching some kind of potential

This is exactly what I thought and feared to an extent would happen to Josh Perry if/when he ever left the Knights. He has always had that potential to be a damaging front-rower, and for the 2001 season he was looking like he was going to be that player. I knew he still had that in him, and I knew if he left, the new club would get him firing and reaching his potential.

It has happened, and Manly have the benefit of this.

I agree, he has been terrific this year. Sometimes, players just need a change. Unfortunately as Nuke said, you can see it in certain players, they just get stale and aren't not going to show their real potential until they move on.

Still think the knights did the right think by moving him on. Some players just get too comfortable and start to become lazy. A kick up the arse is probably the best thing he could have got.

The problem was there was no competition for places at the knights. In the years Josh was at the knights he knew he would always get picked regardless which kind of made him lose motivation because he knew he only had to go through the motions.
