NRL star Josh Reynolds has failed a roadside drug test after being pulled over driving on an expired licence - now the Tigers five-eighth is awaiting the results of a second swab.

NSW Police say they pulled over a Mercedes on President Avenue in Caringbah at 1.30am on Monday morning and with the Tigers’ star five-eighth was behind the wheel.

Police say Reynolds, 31, only had an expired licence and was issued with an infringement notice.

He was then taken to Sutherland Police station for a secondary oral fluid test which has been sent to a laboratory for analysis.

The Daily Telegraph understands two tests were done - one returned a positive result and the other negative.

Reynolds is now awaiting the result of a laboratory test to confirm which was correct.

Reynolds’ manager was contacted by The Daily Telegraph but did not respond. An NRL spokesperson said in a statement: “The Wests Tigers advised the NRL Integrity Unit of the matter. The Integrity Unit are working with the club and NSW Police to determine the full details.”

The incident comes after a rough year for Reynolds mostly because of a public breakdown with his now ex-girlfriend Arabella Del Busso – who is alleged to have faked several pregnancies while they were together.

Police hauled him before the courts on a domestic violence charge related to Ms Del Busso but it was ultimately dropped.

Just one week ago she broke her silence on 60 Minutes with shock revelations about her deceptions.

Wests Tigers utility Josh Reynolds is awaiting the result of a third drugs test after being pulled over by police while driving home from Bankstown Airport on Monday morning.

Reynolds, who was issued with an infringement for driving with an expired licence, failed a roadside drugs test at Caringbah but a second test was negative.

A further test conducted at Sutherland Police Station has been sent to a laboratory.

The former NSW Origin five-eighth has not been charged with any drugs offence at this point.

Tigers officials advised the NRL of the incident and the integrity unit is working with police.

An NRL spokesman said: "The Wests Tigers advised the NRL Integrity Unit of the matter. The Integrity Unit are working with the club and NSW Police to determine the full details."

Wests Tigers are aware of a matter involving Josh Reynolds and NSW Police on June 8, 2020.

After arriving back from Queensland at 12:50am as part of the club’s Round 4 squad that faced the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday night, Josh was pulled over by police a short time after for driving without a valid driver's licence.

Josh underwent roadside alcohol and drug testing, and was taken to Sutherland Police Station for a higher-level test as per normal protocols. This test returned a negative result and Josh was subsequently released without charge.

The NRL Integrity Unit were made aware by Wests Tigers earlier this morning and have been working closely with the club since then.

Wests Tigers will be making no further comment on the matter.

Geez I thought for a moment Buzz was on the bongs.Although have to admit he looks zoned out ,all the time.
Anyone who writes snippets about players ,coaches etc buying something in a supermarket, eating packet of chips, or sipping a latte with some player managers ,is in need of serious help.

Haha Reynolds is a f**kwit but how's Buzz?

Reckons the police found the second negative "so unusual" they've called in a forensic lab....f**k off, Rummy.

Although Buzz is a clueless old drunk, it is fairly unusual to go positive roadside then negative at the station.

Poor kid can’t afford to get his license renewed.

Must be on minimum wage at the Club?

I personally would be filthy with myself if i was driving on an expired license, but not unheard of. If he was suspended but driving.... totally different story
