true, but no coincidence that Judd played very well for 2 quarters, and the weagles kicked clear

then Judd got injured and Goode came to life, and the Swans fought back to within a point

I think it just goes to show that these two guys were worthy brownlow winnners, as when each was at the top of thier game yesteday they swung thier team's momentum their way

Goodes was more effective with less possession than Judd in last year's GF and while Judd was steadier across the whole game yesterday, again he had little genuine impact on the match. I thought he was better than in last year's GF, but again this was only because he was getting a good amount of the ball, and not because he was doing anything expressly special with it.

Goodes was ordinary early, along with many of his teammates, but he seriously came to life after the break and was central in dragging the Swans back into the game.

When he is on, he gives you a lot more to worry about than Judd does.

Turn it up Kev! Judd is the X-Factor West Coast needed yesterday. Withough him they would have lost by 4 goals plus!

Yeah, because Cox (the Eagles best footballer) wasn't absolutely smashing Sydney in the ruck; Kerr (the Eagles second best footballer) was doing the classy things; Cousins (the Eagles third best footballer) wasn't giving the run through the midfield; Embley (the Eagles fifth best footballer) wasn't playing a blinder; and Lynch & Hansen weren't giving the Swans defenders no end of headaches up forward.

The big question has to be, with Sydney having so many players down and losing in so many key positions, how could West Coast only have won by a point.

For all the rave about Judd, the reality is that if they had Pavlich instead they'd have won by more yesterday and would have won last year's flag as well.

:D

Seriously though, how good is the big fella?

He's definitely the best ruckman going around today, but he's good enough to seriously challenge for the title of the best ruckman in my lifetime.

To this point, its a toss-up between Simon Madden & Gary Dempsey, with honourable mentions to Everitt & Salmon, but I think Cox could have them all beat by the end of his career.

How can a genuine ruckman move like that?

Clearly the best player even snared from the rookie list.

as the commentators say, he's like an extra mid-fielder and i have to agree...for his size he's got great skills and mobility

Why doesn't greg Tivendale get a mention in that contest? :x

I think the 'Dean of Mean' has got him covered, young man.

I'm confident about making the call.
