What's the joke? Outside of McKinnon getting two to three weeks for his running battle with Robinson yesterday.......

The fact that widders was allowed to slam the same man on his head and gets a far reduced charge. Put it in perspective - Widders put dangerous in a potentially life-threatening position, whereas McKinnon contacted a match official. Talk about f**king precious from the ref's point of view

would McKinnon have told the ref off if the ref gave the warriors the penalty in the first place ?

ref told him it was his fault FFS !

"You put yourself in the position" or words to that effect.

Yes, I dived on my head when Widders and another player put their hands between my legs and lifted......

Under no circumstances should a player touch a match official, and I don't see why anyone should have a problem with the big penalties handed out for it. Widders should have got a grade 2 though.

Mind you, Robinson and his Video Ref shouldn't be allowed near an NRL match for a year after yesterdays effort.

This is bullsh*t.

We are going to lose our fullback for a few weeks who has been great just because of some piss poor ref.

I don't agree with the contact of the ref, I agree it should never happen, I agree it should receive big penalties. However it should be put in perspective and things like spear/lifting tackles should receive even bigger penalties.

Widders playing his next game before McKinnon will be a massive farce.

The only f**king' joke is that McKinnon should've been off the field when he scored his try yesterday! ;-)

I dont blame McKinnon for blowing up, if robinson is a 1st grade ref next round, then that will be a very good indication of just how bad the NRL's referee stocks are at the moment.

Any Souths fan who thinks Widders shouldn't have been penalised for turning McKinnon on his head needs a brain check.

McKinnon will be history. just watched it and it was 3-4 plays after the spear, wade was on his line with the ref beside him, gave the ref a good 2 handed shove out of the way while he was trying to defend. it didnt look as though the ref was obstructing him and wade was getting a bit of payback.

robinson said something about his yellow jersey after the rabbitoh player scored after the next PTB, wades gone for sure and deserves to be.

bad self discipline.

Yep, for sure you cannot touch the ref. Full stop. Period.
Or we end up like soccer with players in the face and pushing refs - Fugg that.

If the ref was that bad he will get dropped.

He won't, mostly its not Robinson's fault this tension, its Chris Ward's. But as sure as a month of Sundays, Chris Ward's name will appear somewhere in the video referee's box this weekend. Whenever there's a video refereeing drama, you can lay your bottom dollar on Ward being involved in misinterpreting the rules, not understanding benefit of the doubt, but irrespective his name is the first name pencilled in for video refereeing duties.

McKinnon should plead not guilty due to temporary head trauma from the spear tackle :) Danny Williams used it

Whilst I don't disagree with what you've said, isn't it funny how it's always the same referee?
