I'm not disagreeing that Wade was a dick and should be gone for the contact with Robinson, but lifting tackles are far more dangerous in todays game and deserve even larger penalties IMO.

Whilst I don't disagree with what you've said, isn't it funny how it's always the same referee?

P.S. skeepe, click the "Wet Canvas" link in my sig for this weeks sig banner ;-)

Rubbish Dodge- officials must be protected. Players know they can't touch them and lets face it Wade was completely wrong. Regardless of how bad the ref is you just can't touch him. If you have a problem with the ref- the captain should be speaking to him!

Wade was speaking to him :-D

Maybe a bit of temporary head trauma there from Wade, either way how can a first grade referee say something along the lines of a player deliberately putting himself in a dangerous tackle position. It's like saying a player running puts himself in danger of a head high tackle only to milk the penalty. I'm fairly sure Jarrod McCracken didn't put himself in a dangerous position to earn his team a penalty, and I'm damn sure no first grade player would ever do the same again following on from what happened to him.

Problem is WADE IS NOT CAPTAIN. Price is there to do that or Wiki or whoever is teh vice captain if Price is off teh field. Robinson had a absolute shocker, absolutely no doubt but Wade should not be speaking or touching the ref- the captain is there to approach the ref!

didn't Jeremy Smith get 4 weeks last year for contact with the ref?? McKinnon's incident was worse than that IMO.

All of the "lifting" tackles were not that bad this week. They already have quite a large penalty!

ALL lifting tackle are bad, especially when players are dropped on their head like McKinnon was. What I'm talking about isn't about his contact and conduct with Robinson, it's about the charge Widders faces and how it should be a larger penalty than the contact charge McKinnon himself faces. Putting a life in danger > Touching a match official.

Widders tackle looked bad but he did not land on his head. Don't make it sound like he did something attrocious. Yes it was not a great tackle but it has been punished. Touching a match official just becuase you don't like a decision deserves to be punished more. Officials need to be protected!

Locky, you land yourself in new levels of low, Watson, and all your other favourites combined have nothing on that call. McKinnon landed on his neck. That's bad. That's not good. The spine and neck aren't meant to absorb those sorts of things. It's only a slipped grasp away from a McCracken.

So do players from spinal injuries.

Any Souths fan who thinks Widders shouldn't have been penalised for turning McKinnon on his head needs a brain check.

But it didn't simple as that. Yes luck played a role but Wade must learn from this. Lifting tackles already have massive penalties!

One week is not a massive penalty for what could have been a neck injury.

Particularly when he himself was penalised, not South Sydney on the field.

It is enough, just becuase wade's looked worse doesn't mean widders should be penalised substancially

You honestly believe that???????????
Why would a player do such a thing?
Risk your life in a wheel chair for the sake of a penalty!

have u ever played footy?

when you know ur being lifted, you curl your head up and force yourself down with an arm guiding your fall, thus avoiding injuries and getting an easy penalty and possibly a player in the bin...
