JUDICIARY NOT INTERESTED IN SAINTS THIS WEEK
This week, Saints had 3 more players potentially facing the judiciary. Barrett and Bartrim were placed on report and Smith was penalised for a head high. There was no way that any of these players were guilty of anything other than playing hard footy.
But on previous experience it looked as if Saints were once again destined for punishment.
In something of a surprise for Saints fans, neither Trent Barrett, Craig Smith or Wayne Bartrim were cited to face the judiciary.
All are available for next weekend (!)
Have the judiciary gone soft on Saints?
Perhaps the 'softly softly and carrying a big stick' approach which was employed earlier this year by Saints CEO Peter Doust has now had some positive results.
Or am I just setting myself up for another fall?

Thanks Wayne.
The post is 4 weeks old and I was thinking at the time that Saints had finally overcome the judiciary and it predujuce against Craig Smith.

For the record:
Smith was cited today for 'striking' against Brisbane's Kevin Walters (known as 'Kevvie' by his mates). If Craig Smith is found guilty, he faces 5 or even 6 weeks suspension which effectively ends his career in Australia.
There was nothing in the tackle and Walters' injury was just part and parcel of the game.
We can only hope that the judiciary shows some common sense.
