So V'Landy's reasoning for this is because of the fans. How good do us Dragons fans feel. Saints were in the 8 or fringe last year before BBQ gate and they suspend Vaughn for 8 weeks (which he served none under the Dogs as he was signed by them and was sacked by Saints after BBQ gate) and 10 or so others copped 1 week which had to be scattered over 2-3 weeks so basically weaken the team for not only 1 week but 3 to ensure they make it harder to make the 8. How is that punishment fair on the Dragons fans?

NRL is becoming a dead set joke. Bring back David Gallop. He was by far the best and punished all teams fairly. Since then it has been so badly run it ain't funny.

I posted earlier what about if the player concerned was retiring would he be allowed to play and that led me to think what if the player was changing clubs at the end of the season that would mean his new club and fans would wear the punishment and not the club he played for when the indiscretion occurred.

Absolute stupidity of the highest order unless of course someone took a big multi with a huge payout pending.

There is a stench around this.

It's more than a stench OT, it is the full sewerage system. Fans, baloney.

Because of this "arrangement", I'm not bloody going to watch any of the Panthers games in this finals series. Up yours, Vlandys!

Remember Korbin Sims, his last game for broncos was against the Dragons...he did a high tackle (I think), copped a suspension and the next season he was at Saints suspended for the first couple of weeks.

Andrew Abdo-cate for the good of the game.
This is dead set one of the worst decisions ever made by NRL. It's basis is in horse-racing where immediately sidelining a jockey could have adverse effects on bets placed on the rest of carnivals.
The NRL is not horse racing.......but heading that way ........ we are all being treated like mugs.

The NRL/ARL make the rules to suit themselves. Suspending May 2 games in the finals series would not have any detrimental effect to the outcome of the the Panthers winning or losing any of those 2 games while May is out. It is just bloody stupid for Vlandys to say the deferral of his suspension was for the fans (Penrith's fans only yes, but not the other fans of the other 7 teams in the finals). I hope that May suffers a finals ending injury and that will be that.

This is what occurs when an organisation employs people who have no background in the field in which they are employed .

Neither V’landys nor Abdo possess the most important qualification in governing the game of rugby league and that is to have the love of the game itself coursing through their veins .

We , the game itself , is desperately calling out for individuals who can steer this wreck back on course so as to once again make it ‘ The Greatest Game of All ‘ .

Here is further stuff from Foxsports news.

I like this part said by Michael Carayannis:
"However one person that believes May shouldn’t have received a suspension at all is Gould, who said in a tweet that it was “hardly a serious matter” and that the young winger “should be congratulated.”
That sparked News Corp journalist Michael Carayannis to declare that Gould should be sanctioned for his comments.
“The fact that an official of a club said that May should be congratulated. The NRL should sanction Gus,” he said on NRL 360.
“If they had any gumption, they’d sanction him — he is a club official.
“That’s worse than what Ivan said. To say that someone should be congratulated for assaulting a man and we’re OK with that?”

Haha - Taylan May : sin-binned in the first 10 minutes and on report. I wonder if any fine or suspension he incurs for that will be suspended or held over until 2023?
Now don’t you go worrying yourself about that big bad Barry .

I have a mate ( Horace Scuttlebug ) connected to the media who told me that he will be doing increments of 10 minutes in each match he plays, until whatever penalty handed down by the judiciary is served .

Apparently the NRL wishes to ensure that the Panther fans do not suffer due to his indiscretion . 😳

Apparently the 10 minutes per match suspension will be served during the time period normally referred to as "half time".
