I have always had an interest when it is on TV, i will always sit down and watch it.. Mind you i didnt really know what was going on but i got the general idea... It seems like a very tactical game above other things..

My suggestion on how to pick an NFL team would be to play fantasy football. Its how I got some of my mates to pick a team before they knew anything about the game. Fantasy football you pick a team of guys from the NFL (doesnt matter if you dont know them, you'll learn them eventually) and hope they score points pretty much. You end up getting a connection to one or two players usually and that would be a good starting block.

Or you can play Madden and learn a shitload about the players and the game. I learnt heaps from playing Madden although I was always a Broncos fan, no matter how much John waffled on about the other teams.
