When I told my Parramatta fan son last night that it looked like Finch was going there, he was inconsolable.

After punching the wall, of course...

Poor old finch! Best of luck to him for the remainder of this year and the next at Parra. If he thought that the rooster fans were hard on him, what sort of horrors are waiting for him in 2007 where the eels fans barely take a breath between whingeing and crying!

The difference between Parramatta and Newcastle is that we haven't been reliant on one player year after year....we have a much more versatile squad that can cope with the loss of one key player.

If Johns and/or Buderus are both out of the Knights then the scoreboard attendant may as well stay over the Opposition side.
Yeah but look at the gains vs losses though. Its still a lot easier to coach the knights for the last few years with johns than the Parra squad next season. We will see what Hagan is really made out of.

The Sydney Roosters confirms that Brett Finch has been formally granted a release and will join the Parramatta Eels on a new 2 year agreement from 2007.
“The clubs decision to grant Brett a release was based on what we consider in the best interest of the player’s long term playing future.
“We are sorry to see him go as he is popular with all in our club, coaching staff and above all his team mates. Brett has been a great contributor to our club both on and off the field and I speak for all at the Roosters in wishing him all the best with his future” confirmed Roosters CEO Brian Canavan.
Brett will play out the 2006 season with the Sydney Roosters after 4 years with the club.
“I will miss everyone at the Sydney Roosters especially the players and supporters and the many friends I have met.
“I am particularly grateful to have played along side so many great players and to have participated in the World Club Challenge victory in 2003 and two Grand Final appearances” concluded Finch.

And all the time while the Scott Prince drama was playing out, you were telling us Finch was going to be a Wests Tiger.

On behalf of my fellow FoFFers I would like to congratulate us all for staying true to the cause through ridicule and condemnation. FOFF has achieved its goal but will remain in force until such time as Brett “whatdoido whatdoido whatdoido” Finch is asked to leave his training tracksuit at the door and don’t let the handle hit his buck teeth on the way out! This is indeed a great day for the FOFF, this day is what we’ve been all about. Thank %^$& for this!!!!!

So ends the Finch era at the Roosters, which will be held in such esteem as the Vautin era and the Papworth era.

Finch will forever have his name included in such Rooster sides as “The Century’s Worst Ever” and “The Greatest Duds”. Finch may even get a mention in our clubs “Worst purchases ever made” list which is a massive achievement given how many we have made.

Faretheewell Brett, the 34ins and 28 secs of semi decent football you played for us in the 4 years contracted to us will soon disappear from memory, especially given the number of bongs I intend to smoke tonight to celebrate your impending departure.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh happy days!!

Chook.
