After watching Jye play for Manly on saturday night, and seing how well i think he played, i think we made a bad choice letting him go, when we have people like Bird playing 5/8, he was dirt cheap to, your thoughts??

I didn't see the Manly game over the weekend, however Mullane never did much when he was with the Sharks

Mullane didnt do anything for us that would have us want to keep him, but.... he did play quite good against the Cowboys
maybe he just fits in well at Manly
good on him

I always thought he had potential . Good hands , reads the play well . He just needed some time - still a young bloke

Mullane wasn't given enough opportunities. Yet we hand on to crap like Bird, and Mullane is from a Cronulla dynasty

But we really should have kept Brett Firman. He'd be great in the halves with Noddy!

Some people have said that the Cowboys were worst than what we were, so I wouldn't read too much into Mullane's form. :)

Watch the game before you comment and it might have some substance. After reading alot of poor reports on forums from sharks fans I did not hold out much hope for Mullane getting a start and when he was given the 6 jersey I was thinking "what the hell".After watching him play in our last trial against Souths and on Saturday night I can only see good things for him at Manly.Maybe as one poster said he awsn't given the oportunities or maybe as another said he just didn't fit in but all I can say is I am glad he came accross and comments like the above is just sour grapes. No offense ment to the open minded Sharks fans and good luck on your season.

I heard he played well and Manly were happy with him

I agree we should have kept Firman for 5/8 but I suppose Kimmorley doesnt need another ball player, he just needs someone to shovel the ball the opposite side of the ruck while he sets up the troops.

Spot on Sully.
the cowboys made 25 errors & missed close to 50 tackles.

My grandma would have shone at 5/8 for manly.

having said that, I wish he had never come of age through the Anderson era.
Perhaps he could have been something for us as he certainly has the lines.

Mullane is no spring chicken, and I think he's not good enough for first grade. Our 2 young 5/8's will shit all over him in the very near future.

I wish the very best of good fortune to any local junior or former player who is forced to leave our club through no fault of his own. Good luck to him. I hope he has a blinder every game - except against us.

If we have another ordinary year, I'm sure Manly will sign up our outcasts again fpr 2005. ;-)

Mullane did play well last week and i thought myself, maybe we had let him go prematurely, but Nth Queensland were terrible. I rate Bird as better by a fair bit but neither of them have fully reached their potential yet. A few years and all will be known.
