Said on the news tonight that kick off over there is at 9 O'Clock local time. So that is 10am Sunday 13th November for us.

Also said that the match finishes too late for the Aussies to catch a commercial flight so they may have to charter a flight.

I'd say the Aussie's will be taking a charter flight out of Buenos Aires

Does Uruguay have daylight savings? I'm thinking that coudl throw the time out a bit as our daylight savings starts before this match is played.

I think thats the right Aus kick off time, dirty Uruguayans. Qantas should have little trouble getting us a charter flight out of Montevideo for it.

Nothing better than an early Sunday morning drink, just like when big boxing matches are on.
It was on in the morning our time last time wasn't it? And it was day time in Uruguay so what's doing there?

Doesn't really make much of a difference though. If anything the Dumb Uruguayans are helping us. Most our boys have been playing in the mild conditions of Europe, so instead of playing on a warm/hot montevideo afternoon, they decide to play it in ideal night conditions.

If we get a good result in the 1st leg, Sunday could be a total write off especially considering I will be in Terrigal.

I put the time into a program at this kool website. You put the date the event is going to happen so I guess they account for DST.

I don't care too much which channel so long as a FTA channel gets it

I hope SBS get it. Don't fancy watching it on Seven, they'll get Mcaveney in there somewhere.

Just checked the SBS site and they don't have it listed. But that may be simply because they haven't yet released the rights to the game. However, SBS does have the second leg listed but it is weird in that they have programs scheduled in for 8pm :?:

They don't have it listed as the rights are under negotiation between the Uruguayan FA and the Australian media companies. I'd say it is very likely this will be on Foxtel, as it will be sold o the highest bidder. Absolute load of crap considering what SBS does for the game in this country, then another network comes in and steals one of the biggest games every 4 years.

Actually, isnt Foxtel the only broadcaster of the A League at the moment?

It would be great if SBS got the rights, but if they are outbid channel 7 or foxtel, then so be it.

Foxtel hasn't done dick to support Australian soccer previous to that, although they are doing a good job with their A-League coverage.

SBS has all but acquired the rights:

The Daily Telegraph
Roos play-off to beat Ashes
By Philip Micallef
October 27, 2005

SBS-TV has "almost certainly" acquired the rights to televise the first leg of Australia's World Cup showdown against Uruguay at the Estadio del Centenario in Montevideo on Sunday, November 13.

And the multicultural broadcaster expects the ratings for the return leg at Telstra Stadium in Sydney three days later to be "far better than those of the Ashes".

SBS head of sport Les Murray said yesterday that football fans around Australia should stop worrying because he was "very confident" of being able to show the match live at 10am (AEST).

"We are negotiating with South American agents Traffic, who own the rights of the first leg, and I am sure we will get them," Murray declared.

"This will be a big week for us because the return match in Sydney, that will kick off in prime time at 8pm, will be watched by millions of people.

"In fact we anticipate a much bigger audience than that of the recent Ashes series against England."

An estimated peak of two million watched the first session's play of the fourth day of the second Test at Edgbaston.

SBS's highest ever ratings figures were recorded in November 1997 when a peak of more than 2.14 million watched the Socceroos' World Cup qualifier against Iran at the MCG.
